3 If a crater is at a higher elevation, then the wind streak will be longer because wind on Earth is sometimes stronger at higher elevations
4 In some spots, wind streaks may be longer on craters that are at higher elevations In other spots craters at a lower elevation may have longer wind streaks Some places on mars there are very long wind streaks, some places there are short wind streaks. On Earth, winds are sometimes stronger at higher elevations. Where there is a crater with a wind streak, there is usually some others near by.
5 Wind streaks are defined as dark and light streaks caused by wind erosion
6 Wind streaks are formed by wind erosion and wind deposition. The wind might pick up small partials and cause the area to be eroded.
7 Wind streaks look like teardrops coming from mars surface Wind streaks can be both dark and light Craters are places in the ground that have been hit by a small particle that enters the atmosphere of a planet and hurtles towards the planet and crashes

9 1.Go to marsed.asu.edu 2.Scroll down and click on JMARS for MSIP 3.Log onto JMARS as a guest or if you have a login, login to it that way 4.Click on add new layer 5.Click on maps and add MOLA colorized elevation 6.Then click on add new layer again 7.Add,under maps, Themis day Global mosaic 8.Put the MOLA colorized elevation at the top of the list. Then find three different elevations that you would like to explore 9.Once you have found those, record the boundaries at which that spot is. (EX. 230 E 240 E, and 50 N- 40 N) 10. Then pull the MOLA shaded relief onto the top of the list.
10 11.Go to add new layer and click on stamps and click themis. 12.When the window pops up, put in the longitude and the latitude of the square you picked 13.Many blue rectangles should pop up. 14.Look at craters and if you see a crater with a wind streak, click on the stamp it is in and then right click that stamp 15.Then go to Render selected Themis stamp and click render as ABR 16.Look at the crater and record at what coordinates the center of the crater is 17.Then using the measuring tool, located at the top of the page next to the zoom out button, measure the length of the wind streak 18.Record the measurements, coordinates, Image ID number, and the way that the wind streak is pointing. 19.Find ten to twenty wind streaks in that area 20.Repeat steps nine through nineteen for the other two areas 21.Review the data and make any tables or graphs 22.Write down any references used in helping you with this process
