1 Darwin Sailing Club 2018 Season PATRONS TROPHY STERNCHASER 26 August 2018 First Start: Patrons Trophy Sternchaser All divisions The start time will be posted on the Notice Board under the Tower and the DSC website If you don t have a start time for your boat, please contact the Sailing Manager at sailingmanager@dwnsail.com.au before 1500h Saturday. Starters must confirm with the start boat at least five minutes prior to their published start time. Boats with VHF radios, may confirm by responding to a five minute advice on VHF Ch. 73 Starting Sequence: The start sequence will be as followed: First start with a normal (RRS 26) 5 minutes start sequence. Subsequent starts will be by reference to the time clock displayed at the stern of the start signal boat. Starters may receive a sound signal at their start time. Check your time on the start time sheet attached to this Sailing Instructions or under the Tower. RACE COURSE and FORMAT: All divisions except Div. 10 (Minnows): Start (repeated), Div. 10 (Minnows): Start 1a 2b 3 (repeated). The Start Line will be between the staff sowing an orange flag on the Start/Finish boat and the course side of a cylindrical orange buoy on the starboard side of that boat Each competitor must pass through the finish line on each lap. All Marks left to Port.

2 The leader s lap numbers will be displayed on the Committee Boat so everyone will be able to know how far from the lead they are. The Committee boat will keep a record of everyone s lap, but it is recommended that everyone also count their laps to know how far from the lead they are. After 100 minutes of racing there will be a long sound signal. As the lead boat approaches the finish line, the blue flag will be flown on the Committee boat. Once the leader has completed her last lap and finished the race, all the other boats going through the finish line will be a finisher. The winner is the boat with the most laps within their elapsed time. The result will be confirmed by the Race Committee and will be final. This changes Rule Refreshments will be available at the DSC from 1730hrs followed by the presentation by the DSC Patron at 1800 hrs.

3 Description of the buoys: The start will be between the cylindrical orange buoy and the Start/Finish boat. 1 is an orange cylindrical buoy; 1a is an orange and white cylindrical buoy; 2 is an orange cylindrical buoy; 2b is an orange and white cylindrical buoy; 3 is a cylindrical black and white buoy. 1 1a 2 2a 3 Rounding and Finish Start
