2 Connecticut Maritime Association First Annual Sailing Regatta Featuring Five America s Cup Classic 12 Meters On Friday, September 30 th 2005 the Connecticut Maritime Association will hold their first ever Annual Sailing Regatta. The CMA has chartered five America s Cup Twelve Meter Yachts for the 2005 Regatta. Three of which, Weatherly, Intrepid and Columbia actually won the America s Cup. The classic America's Cup Competitors Nefertiti, and Ted Turner's American Eagle complete this fleet of beautifully restored yachts. Yacht Weatherly Built 1958 Columbia Built 1958 Nefertiti Built 1962 American Eagle Built 1964 Intrepid Built 1967 Sponsor Charles R. Weber Company Inc. OMI Corporation General Maritime Corporation Eagle Ocean Intrepid Shipping LLC Each yacht will have space for 10 CMA members and guests and will have two crew and a skipper provided by the owners. The CMA Regatta will commence promptly at pm from the Indian Harbor Yacht Club in Greenwich, CT. Launches will deliver guests to their respective yachts where they will enjoy lunch aboard and a brief strategy and sailing discussion. Races will begin promptly at 13:00 hrs. A series of handicapped races will get underway. Pitting these five fine racing yachts and their respective captains and crew against one another. Racing will end at 17:00 hrs, where launches will return the guests to the Indian Harbor Yacht Club for a cocktail reception followed by dinner and prize giving.

3 Spectators will be able to watch the racing up close aboard a 117 luxury yacht, where lunch and cocktails will be served as a string quartet serenades guests. Various sponsorship opportunities are available and listed within this document. As space for sailing is very limited those interested in racing should get their applications in as soon as possible. This will not be day cruising, it will be competition sailing and while racing experience is not essential, all those crewing should be prepared for a serious four hours of racing! So give Lorraine a call to register on ex Space will be allotted on a first come first served basis so act now. The price to sail in this CMA first ever Regatta has not been fixed yet and we are working to get as many sponsors as possible in order to keep the price for both sailors and spectators as low as possible. As soon as we have a firm number we will let all those interested know. Presently we can say that it will not exceed $350 per person. This will of course include lunch aboard the yacht prior to racing, racing and cocktails and dinner at the Indian Harbor Yacht Club afterwards.

9 Connecticut Maritime Association First Annual Sailing Regatta Featuring Five America s Cup Classic 12 Meters Official Sponsorship Opportunities Presenting Sponsor Admirals Sponsor - $2000 x 5 There are five Admiral s Sponsorships available. Each sponsor will receive recognition as a major sponsor of the entire event, with particular focus on the luxury spectator lunch and race watch. This will take place aboard a 117 luxury yacht that will enable up to 100 spectators to follow the race up close and personal from out on the water and track its progress, while enjoying a Scandinavian Smorgasbord lunch and cocktails, while a string quartet serenades them. Each sponsor will be featured on the race card, the website, all race materials and of course in the newsletter. These sponsorships are perfect for corporate entertaining and will include two free guest places for the lunch onboard the yacht. Sponsors will also receive free use of air horns and cow bells to cheer on the yachts.

Nefertiti General Maritime Corporation Intrepid Intrepid Shipping LLC Trophy Sponsor - $2,000, $1,000 and $750 The Trophy Sponsor enables a participating sponsor to name and present the trophy to the Captains Sponsor whose team comes in first place ($2000) second place ($1000) and third place ($750). The trophies will be engraved with the sponsor s name and be presented every year going forward. THE FOLLOWING TROPHY SPONSORS HAVE BEEN CONFIRMED First Place Trophy Marine Oil Transportation Consultants Inc.

11 Winning Teams Prize Sponsors - $1000, $750 and $500 The Winning Teams Prize Sponsor will have their company name attached to the event and imprinted on the gifts given to those teams that come in first, second and third place. Captains Cocktail and Dinner Sponsor - $3,000 This sponsor will be identified primarily with the cocktail reception and dinner immediately following the yacht racing. The sponsor s name will be featured prominently in all written materials, invitations, advertising and signage pertaining to this event. Regatta Hat Sponsor - Confirmed Regatta Hat Sponsor Merlin Petroleum Co., Inc.
