A 120-vot, 60-Hz, AC-ony, o-ampere, fused eectrica suppy is required. A time-deay fuse or circuit breaker is recommended. It is recommended that a separate circuit serving ony this appiance be provided. Eectronic ignition systems operate within wide votage imits, but proper grounding and poarity are necessary. In addition to checking that the outet is correcty grounded, the outet must be checked by a quaified eectrician to see if it is wired with correct poarity. A wiring diagram is incuded on the back of the range. See Cabinet dimensions/requirements, Page 1, for recommended ocation of eectrica outet. Recommended grounding method For your persona safety, this range must be grounded. This range is manufactured with a power suppy cord having a 3-prong grounding pug. To minimize possibe shock hazard, the cord must be pugged into a mating, 3-prong, grounding-type, wa receptace, grounded in accordance with Nationa Eectrica Code, ANSI/NFPA 70 - atest edition* and a oca codes and ordinances. If a mating wa receptace is not avaiabe, it is the responsibiity and obigation of the customer to have a propery grounded, 3-prong, wa receptace instaed by a quaified eectrician. Gas suppy must NOT exceed 1Cinch water coumn pressure. This must be checked by a quaified technician before instaing the range. Do Not use an open fame to test for eaks from gas connections. New A.G.A. design-certified fexibe gas ine shoud be used when oca codes permit. resut in a fire or injury. coud Observe a governing codes and ordinances. This instaation must conform with a oca codes and ordinances. In the absence of oca codes, instaation must conform with American Nationa Standard, Nationa Fue Gas Code ANSI atest edition**. Input ratings shown on the mode/seria rating pate are for eevations up to 2,000 feet. For assistance when instaing the range at higher eevations, contact your oca service company. Type of gas: This range is factory set for use with Natura gas. It is design-certified by the American Gas Association IA.G.A.1 for Natura or L.P. gases with appropriate conversion. (See Gas conversions instructions, Pages 6-7.) The mode/seria rating pate (ocated on the frame behind the broier door) has information on the type of gas that can be used. If the type of gas isted does not agree with the type of gas avaiabe, check with the oca gas suppier. Conversion must be done by a quaified service technician. Gas suppy ine: Provide a gas suppy ine of 3/4 rigid pipe to the range ocation. With L.P. gas, piping or tubing size can be /2 minimum. A smaer size pipe on onger runs may resut in insufficient gas suppy. Usuay, L.P. gas suppiers determine the size and materias used in the system. Pipe-joint compounds made for use with L.P. gas must be used. Fexibe meta appiance connection: If oca codes permit, a new A.G.A. design-certified, /2 or 3/4 I.D., fexibe meta appiance connector is recommended for connecting range to the gas suppy ine. A /2 mae pipe thread is needed for connection to pressure reguator femae pipe threads. Do Not kink or damage the fexibe meta tubing when moving the range. an in-ine connection to the range. This vave shoud be ocated in the same room as the range and shoud be in a ocation that aows ease of opening and cosing. The vave is for turning on or shutting off gas to the range. Do Not bock access to shutoff vave. Pressure reguator: The gas pressure reguator suppied with this range must be used. The inet pressure to the reguator shoud be as foows for proper operation: NATURAL GAS: Minimum pressure: 5 inches WCP Maximum pressure: 14 inches WCP L.P. GAS: Minimum pressure: 11 inches WCP Maximum pressure: 14 inches WCP Contact your oca gas suppier if you are not sure about the inet pressure. Line pressure testing above /2 psi gauge (14 WCP) -The range and its individua manua shutoff vave must be disconnected from the gas suppy piping system during any pressure testing of that system at test pressures equa to or greater than /2 psig (3.5 kpa1. 6 Check operation Eectronic ignition system Cooktop and oven burners use eectronic ignitors in pace of standing piots. When a cooktop contro knob is turned to the LIGHT position, the system creates a spark to ight the burner. This sparking continues unti the contro knob is turned to the desired setting. When the oven contro is turned to the desired setting, a hot surface ignitor heats up bright orange and ignites the gas. No sparking occurs and the gow bar remains on whie the burner operates. Check operation of cooktop Push in and turn each surface unit contro knob to LIGHT position. The fame shoud ight within 4 seconds. Turn contro knob to HI position after burner ights. Do Not eave the knob in the LIGHT position after burner ights. Check each cooktop burner for proper fame. The sma inner cone shoud have a very distinct bue fame /4 to /2 ong. The outer cone is not as distinct as the inner cone. If the fame is noisy or bowing, it is getting too much air. II If the fame is soft and azy, it is not getting enough air. Turn surface burner contro knobs to OFF position. Adjust air shutter if needed. If surface burners need adjusting: 1. Remove contro knobs. Do Not use a meta bade to pry off contro knob; this coud damage the product. If the contro knob cannot be easiy removed, tuck a coth under the knob and pu out on the coth with steady, even pressure to remove the knob. 2.0pen oven door and remove 3 screws from bottom of manifod pane. Pu down sighty on manifod pane and pu pane away from range. 3. Using a fat-bade screwdriver, adjust the air shutter for each burner as needed. Cose the air shutter to decrease the amount of air to the fame. Open the air shutter to increase the amount of air to the fame. Adjust the air shutter to the widest opening that wi not cause the fame to ift or bow off of the burner. 4. Repeat the first part of Step 15 after adjusting the air shutters. 5.
