4 Mission Accomplishments We are going to corroborate the collection and measurements of the Rock Sat We are going to improve by adding sensors for extra gases that may be needed and also measuring pressure at the laminar air flow during actual flight.

5 Objectives Compare our results with Rocksat 2009 results and findings. Measurement of selected gases in near-space conditions. Inorganic and Microorganism aerosols survey in near-space conditions. Measure pressure during collection in sensor measurements.

6 Expected Results According to the findings of RockSat 2009 we expect to measure the following gases: NO 2, NH 3, H 2 S, H 2, and NO x Microorganisms or endospores which can resist extremely high levels of radiation. This includes: UV (ultraviolet), X-rays and Gamma rays. Also capable of surviving in low pressures and temperatures. Polypeptides or amino acids could also be obtained because the Miller and Urey components could be readily available.

7 Measurement of gases Why gases? Measuring gases is an important part of the mission since they can be the building blocks of polypeptides (Miller/Urey experiment). There is also an interest in measuring the gases that cause the greenhouse effect which can contribute to the global warming.

13 Related research Most of the studies related to atmospheric gases which have been collected at altitudes of 3 km have identified and measured the following: N 2, O 2, Ar, O, CO x, CH 4, H 2 S, SO 2, O 3, NO x, CFC, and H 2 O.

14 Subsystem Requirements Our canister is already supplied up to 13,000mA at 12 volts. So, we do not need external power to operate. It would be desirable to preheat the power supply 30 minutes ahead of the actual flight with a signal of 5 volts and 1mA.

15 Subsystem Requirements Under experiment conditions for temperature will be running from room temperature to flight temperature.

26 Risks We are going to do several test with the AVR to find out why it was auto starting. We are going to change the polarity of the Winchester connector so the pin that created the auto start will not touch ground. Moreover, we are going to discuss this issue with the Colorado Group why this event is happening.

27 Safety All our tubing and connections or manifolds or container are rated over 250 PSI so no leaks of gases or water goes to the payload section..
