2 Page 2 of 8 Section 03 - Hazard Identification Inhalation Mist may cause irritation of upper respiratory tract (nose and throat). Skin Contact / Absorption.... Prolonged contact may cause severe skin irritation with local redness and discomfort. Repeated exposure may cause irritation, even a burn. May cause more severe response if skin is abraded (scratched or cut). Eye Contact May cause pain disproportionate to the level of irritation to eye tissues. May cause severe irritation with corneal injury which may result in permanent impairment of vision, even blindness. Chemical burns may occur. Ingestion..... Harmful if swallowed. Small amounts swallowed incidentially as a result of normal handling operations are not likely to cause injury; however, swallowing larger amounts may cause serious injury, even death. Exposure Limits... Give artificial respiration only if breathing has stopped. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Seek immediate medical attention. Skin Contact / Absorption... Remove contaminated clothing. Wash affected area with soap and water. Seek medical attention if irritation occurs or persists. Eye Contact Contact lenses should never be worn when working with this product. Flush immediately with water for at least 20 minutes. Forcibly hold eyelids apart to ensure complete irrigation of eye tissue. Seek immediate medical attention. Ingestion..... Call a poison control center or doctor immediately for treatment advice. Have person sip a glass of water if able to swallow. Do not induce vomiting unless told to do so by the poison control center or doctor. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Additional Information If lavage is performed, suggest endotracheal and/or esophageal control. Danger from lung aspiration must be weighed against toxicity when considering emptying the stomach. The decision of whether to induce vomiting or not should be made by a physician. Chemical eye burns may require extended irrigation. Obtain prompt consultation, preferably from an ophthalmologist. If burn is present, treat as any thermal burn, after decontamination. No specific antidote. Treatment of exposure should be directed at the control of symptoms and the clinical condition of the patient.

Dry chemical fire extinguishers. Carbon dioxide fire extinguishers. Foam. Do not use direct water stream. May spread fire. General purpose synthetic foams (including AFFF type) or protein foams are preferred if available. Alcohol resistant foams (ATC type) may function. Flash Point >/= 182 o C Auto-ignition Temperature.. The smoke may contain unidentified toxic and/or irritating compounds. Combustion products may include and are not limited to: Nitrogen oxides, Hydrogen bromide, Carbon monoxide, Carbon dioxide. Special Fire Fighting Procedures... Wear positive-pressure self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and protective fire fighting clothing (includes fire fighting helmet, coat, trousers, boots and gloves). Avoid contact with this material during fire fighting operations. If contact is likely, change to full chemical resistant clothing with self-contained breathing apparatus. If this is not available, wear full chemical resistant clothing with self-contained breathing apparatus and fight fire from a remote location. For protective equipment in post-fire or non-fire clean-up situations, refer to the relevant sections. Explosion Hazards... This material will not burn until the water has evaporated. Residue can burn. Container may rupture from gas generation in a fire situation. Section 06 - Accidental Release Measures Leak / Spill Wear appropriate personal protective equipment if required. Ventilate area. Stop or reduce leak if safe to do so. Prevent material from entering sewers, soil, waterways and ditches. Absorb with materials such as: Dirt, Sand, Vermiculite, Zorb-all, Hazorb. Collect in suitable and properly labeled open containers. Absorb with approx.17.2 g NaHSO3 (or 15.7 g Na2S2O5) for 100g biocidal product. Flush with water to remove any residue.

4 Page 4 of 8 Deactivating Materials Attempt to neutralize by adding materials such as sodium bicarbonate or 10% caustic. Section 07 - Handling and Storage Handling Procedures Use proper equipment for lifting and transporting all containers. Use sensible industrial hygiene and housekeeping practices. Wash thoroughly after handling. Avoid all situations that could lead to harmful exposure. Storage Requirements Store in a dry, cool, well ventilated and shaded area away from heat sources and incompatible materials. Temperature storage </= 35 C. Product should be used within 12 months. Protective Equipment Section 08 - Personal Protection and Exposure Controls Eyes..... Chemical goggles, full-face shield, or a full-face respirator is to be worn at all times when product is handled. Contact lenses should not be worn; they may contribute to severe eye injury. Respiratory... Atmospheric levels should be maintained below the exposure guideline. When respiratory protection is required for certain operations, use an approved air-purifying respirator. In dusty or misty atmospheres, use an approved particulate respirator. The following should be effective types of air-purifying respirators:organic vapor cartridge with a particulate pre-filter. Gloves... Impervious gloves of chemically resistant material (rubber or PVC) should be worn at all times. Wash contaminated clothing and dry thoroughly before reuse. Clothing..... Body suits, aprons, and/or coveralls of chemical resistant material should be worn at all times. Wash contaminated clothing and dry thoroughly before reuse. Footwear... Impervious boots of chemically resistant material should be worn. Engineering Controls Ventilation Requirements... Mechanical ventilation (dilution or local exhaust), process or personnel enclosure and control of process conditions must be provided in accordance with all fire codes and regulatory requirements. Supply sufficient replacement air to make up for air removed by exhaust systems. Other...
