Retrieves section of hose and necessary equipment to make connection from apparatus. 3. Open hydrant slowly and fully, fills hose, opens intake valve, removes any kinks in hose. Forward Lay 1. onfirms order with officer to make hydrant connection. 2. Retrieves hose from bed and necessary equipment to make connection from apparatus. 3. Wraps hydrant and instructs apparatus to proceed to fire. 4. Removes proper cap from hydrant, checks for damage and debris. 5. onnect hose to hydrant. 6. Upon order from apparatus, opens hydrant slowly and fully, fills hose, removes any kinks in hose. Attaches the strainer to the end of the hard suction hose and places into water supply. 9. Uses mallet to tighten connections, uses rope to support barrel strainer, as necessary. 10. onnects suction hose to intake, tightens as necessary. 11. Inspects the hose for damage, frays or worn areas, marks defective hose. 7. Removes gasket, inspects and discards old or damaged gasket, if necessary. 8. Places gasket into swivel, smoothes out to seat. 9. Returns hose to service and readies to reduce the loss of life and/or property. 10. Hang to air dry. 11.
