2 Dear Masters, I extend to you a very warm welcome to our 25 th International British Kandahar Masters event in Megève! This will be a very special occasion for us as this is the 25 th anniversary of the Kandahar Ski Club running this the British slot in the International Masters Cup Calendar. It does not seem like it was a whole 25 years ago that we ran the first event in Murren when I was one of the many enthusiastic competitors. I find it so thrilling that we are still welcoming some of you back that joined us in our early days in Murren. Because we see this Race Meeting as being special we are delighted that the President of the Kandahar Ski Club, Cleeves Palmer, will also be joining us in Megève this year to join in our celebrations. Once again our Programme includes three races including a Super G. This year we have introduced a small amendment in that the Combined Medals and Trophies will be awarded on the combination of the Super G and the Slalom. This means we will be able to make those awards on the Saturday evening and thus speed up the timing on the Sunday when many of you are on such tight schedules to get to other events or to travel home. The wonderful, snow sure, slopes of Cote 2000 and the Club des Sports will again provide excellent Races for you all and I m certain that Megève will once again be excellent hosts to us all. I very much look forward welcoming our many faithful supporters as well as welcoming many new Masters to a great Kandahar experience. 5 GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS 1. CONDUCT OF THE RACES: In accordance with the FIS Masters Rules. 2. Contact Telephone and Fax numbers are as for the entries shown above. 4. ENTRY FEES: per race is payable in Euro at the time the bibs are distributed. This covers as a Race entry and a nominal for a Lift Pass for the Cote 2000 Chair Lifts. 5. REGISTRATION: In accordance with the FIS ICR No 208.2, only those Racers who are registered with their National Associations, and have personally signed the Athletes Declaration, and been issued with a valid (current) licence by their National Association may be permitted to compete. Racers must produce their licence if requested. 6. CRASH HELMETS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL EVENTS AND TRAINING The use of crash helmets is compulsory for all events. Only helmets are permitted whose shell and padding cover the head and ears. Soft ear protections are only allowed for SL events. Helmets with spoilers or edges that protrude are not permitted. Helmets used in FIS Snowsports shall be specifically designed and manufactured for the respective discipline and shall bear a CE mark and conform to recognized and appropriate standards such as CEE 1077 or US 2040, ASTM F2040, SNELL S98 or RS 98, etc. See ski.com/data/document/edition1011.pdf 7. ACCIDENT INSURANCE: Accident, medical and liability insurance is mandatory and is the individual racer s responsibility. The Organising Committee cannot and will not accept any responsibility. 6 8. LIFT PASSES: Discounts for Lift passes may be obtained for days other than Race days. These discounts may be obtained by enquiry at the Lift Ticket office To obtain these prices your name must be on a list with the Lift Company. If you wish to have these discounts your entries will have to be with us at least two (2) days before you wish to buy your Tickets. The lift company issues free Lift Passes to anyone over 80 years old, all that is required is production of satisfactory photographic ID such as an ID Card or Passport. 10.
