2 ABOUT ZAYED SPORTS CITY Since before the country began writing its legacy, the United Arab Emirates has shared a strong connection with the world of sport. Built to fulfil the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE s founding father and first President, Zayed Sports City was inaugurated in January 1980 as a testament to the country s passion for sport and a platform to develop and incubate the country s promising sport talent. Zayed Sports City was a state-of-the-art facility for its time and after more than three decades of continuous development, it remains the premiere entertainment and sports destination in the UAE. In addition to a wide range of sporting facilities the entire site has become multi-purpose, hosting birthday parties, corporate outings and international sporting and entertainment events. Enthusiasts of field sports, such as football, rugby, American football or Aussie rules will find 15 full and seven-a-side pitches on the best grass in the UAE. Once you play here you ll understand why national teams and clubs from the English Premier League, Bundesliga and Major League Soccer do too! The courts at Zayed Sports City are as varied as the reasons you play. If you prefer a hard court, nine tennis courts, three netball/basketball courts and two padel tennis courts await you. For a softer surface, four sand courts quickly convert between beach volleyball and beach tennis. Surrounded by grassy knolls for spectators, these courts are the perfect place to spend a sporty day out. 5 PAINTBALL EMIRATES AIKIDO CENTRE Brand new and offering multiple ways to play, Zayed Sports City Paintball is an extreme sport that offers extreme fun. Stop in for a high-octane session with friends, book an intensely fun corporate outing or, when your friends are missing in action, come by for a drop-in session and meet some new comrades! Experts and novices alike will be hooked after experiencing the adrenaline powered fun in the speedball, desert scenario and target practice zones.
