1 Sharjah 8th International Open Para Athletics Meeting 18 th to 20 th March 2018 Dear Sports Friends and Colleagues, It s a great pleasure to invite you to take part to the Sharjah 8th International Para Athletics Meeting to be held from 18 th to 20 th March 2018, at Althiqah club for handicapped in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. We hope that we were part of your achievements in major events, since 2011, year of our 1 st Para Athletics competition; Your support and cooperation contribute significantly in our work to deliver a high level competition. The 8 th edition will be an opportunity for all participants to test their readiness and achieve standards for the coming major para athletics championships and games. For 2018, we will welcome Race Runners to compete for the first time in Sharjah International Para Athletics Meeting. We look forward to see you in Sharjah in March The Organizing Committee 1

2 Sharjah 8th International Open Para Athletics Meeting 2018 Date: 18 th to 20 th March 2018 (three days competition) Place: Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. Organizer: Althiqah club for handicapped. Chairman: Dr. Tariq Sultan Ahmed M. Alkhadim. Venue: Althiqah Club Track (Mondo). Classes: 10 s, 20 s, 30 s, 40 s, 50 s, 60 s and RR1-RR3. (Men & Women). Events: Track: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m and 5000m, 4x100m, 4x400m, long, triple, and high jump. (Runners/Standing athletes will compete up to 400m only, See attached file and forms) Field: shot put, discus, javelin, club. (See attached file and forms) * WPA competition rules applied. * WPA point score system will be used for field combined classes. * Requested a minimum of three competitors to set up an event. * Sanction: WPA Approved (In process). Medals: Medals will be discerned for the first three in each event (if 5 or more entries in the event). Athlete without WPA registration (SDMS) will be not allowed to awards. Entries: Athletes are allowed to enter in unlimited number of events. Participating athletes in the Sharjah 8th International Open Para Athletics Meeting could be subject of doping control according to WPA and WADA rules and regulations. 3 Visas: If visa to enter to UAE is requested, please attach (to your entry) clearly scanned passport copy (passport must be valid at least 6 months), and recent passport size photo (white background). (Documents for visas should be mailed to the organizing committee no later than 15 th February 2018passed this date the LOC cannot proceed for any entry visas).
