3 Welcome Welcome to the 31 st annual All City Meet. We have new Meet Directors in Jeff and Jenny Budke. Scott and Chialo Stiefvater, our former Directors, will still be helping out with many tasks. As you review this document, please note changes in warm-up times, team areas, timers, and stroke and turn volunteer assignments. Registration fees are the same as last year: a $6 per swimmer splash fee, a $4 per individual event entry fee, and a $16 per relay event entry fee. This document is designed so that you can print and post individual pages. You can find additional information regarding the following topics on our website: A&B flights, swimmer eligibility, entry limits, swimming up an age group, swimsuit regulations, scoring and awards. 5 All City timers and recorders Lane Teams Assigned Every team is asked to fill three positions for both days. The six largest teams (IVST, WST, WHO, DEWPK, LS, RSM) are asked to fill an additional position for either Saturday or Sunday. We appreciate your cooperation in avoiding meet delays due to unfilled positions. We will conduct a timing system check before the meet each day shortly after 8:40am. There will be three groups of three Judges as listed in the table above. The groups will rotate as detailed in the schedule to the right. Please the following information to Jeff Budke at the name and cell phone number of each of your stroke and turn volunteers and the day (Sat or Sun) each is assigned to work. 7 The All City All-Ages Relay This fun and exciting event caps off two days of competition with a combined age-group effort. Each swimmer will swim one 25 yard length of freestyle for a combined distance of 150 yards. This event will be scored as any other relay event is scored. There are actually two events: a Girls All-Ages Relay and a Boys All-Ages Relay. Each team may enter one relay for both the girls and boys events. Each relay team will consist of one swimmer from each age-group beginning with the youngest and progressing to the oldest. We will manually seed these events. An All Ages Relay Excel form was ed to you along with this document. Please have your Desk fill out that form and it to Mary Peeff: desk@walnutcreekswimclub.org. 6&U 7&8 9&10 11&12 13&

8 All City team areas & friday night setup Families are invited to setup sunshades in their respective team areas between 6pm and 7pm on Friday, July 7. WCSC families will already be in the pool area helping with setup. Other teams should wait in line at the gate by the diving well until 6pm at which time they will be allowed to enter. The swim complex will be locked on Friday and Saturday night. You may leave your sunshades in place overnight. Neither Walnut Creek Swim Club nor The City of Walnut Creek is responsible for theft of or damage to your belongings. 7

9 Marking 6&Us and 7&8s for All City The All City Clerk of the Course can be a loud, congested, and confusing place for your young swimmers. You can help them (and our meet officials) by marking them with a permanent marker as shown below. Here are a few other things that will help us all to enjoy a smooth and efficient meet: Consider waiting until the second of the three calls for a given event before escorting your 6&Us and 7&8s to the Clerk. Doing so will ensure they spend less time waiting outside the Clerk to be seated. When finished with their races, all swimmers are asked to exit the timing area, not through the Clerk, but through the area by the warm-up/warm-down lanes. You can meet your young swimmers there if you wish. To avoid adding to congestion, parents are asked not to come into the Clerk. 8

10 Advertise in the All City Meet program Over 1,300 local swimmers, their extended families and friends will be attending the All City Meet. Many will purchase a printed program. This program provides an excellent advertising opportunity for your business and a chance to support local, non-profit, recreational youth activities. Keep in mind, all the ads will ultimately be printed in grayscale on white or colored paper.
