1 26th Annual Northwest Ohio Winter Invitational Sponsored by Sylvania Tsunami Swim Club Sanction #OH-18SC-66 January 20-21, 2018 Location: Facility: Bowling Green State University BGSU Student Rec Center Cooper Pool 1411 Ridge St Bowling Green, Ohio *See attached for maps and directions The Cooper Pool is a ten-lane, twenty-five yard pool with Colorado timing and scoreboard display. It has been measured and certified in accordance with USAS section C(4). The copy of such certification is on file with USA Swimming. The minimum water depth, measured in accordance with Article , is 12 feet at the start end and 12 feet at the turn end. Multiple-lane continuous warm-up/warm-down is available outside the competition area. The gutter system is 6 inches below the deck for easy entrance/exit. 2 Entry Procedures: Each athlete may only enter in five individual events per day. Only entries will be accepted for this meet. Hy-Tek entries should be sent to Tim Foster at Payment and Entry Summary Sheet are also subject to entry deadline and should be sent to the Entry Chair at the above address. If you do not receive confirmation within 48 hours of submitting entries, contact Tim at Deck entries by anyone not already entered in the meet must be accompanied by that swimmer s USA-S membership card, valid USA-S team roster or completed swimmer verification form to be considered for inclusion in the meet. Payment is due in cash at the time of deck entry. Deck entries will be permitted only if there is an open lane in an existing heat, and swimmers will be entered at NT and will not be eligible for scoring points. Swimmers may not enter in more than five individual events per day, 6 total with relays. Host club may only accept the fastest 20 entry times for the 500 Free and 400 IM. Host club reserves the right to limit the number of swimmers in any event due to time constraints and entry numbers. Eligibility: All age groups and ability levels will be accepted. Swimmers and coaches MUST be a registered member of USA Swimming as provided in Article 302. We will not be accepting USA Swimming registrations at this meet. No swimmer will be permitted to compete unless the swimmer is a member as provided in Article 302. Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member-coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement. Conduct of Meet/Rules: Competition will be conducted under USA Swimming rules. All events are pre-seeded timed finals. Swimmers must provide their own counters for the 500 Free. In compliance with USA Swimming Rules and Regulations, the use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone is not permitted in the changing areas, rest rooms or locker rooms. Under no circumstances are cameras or any other recording device allowed in the area immediately behind the starting blocks at either end of the racing course(s) while they are in use for race starts during the competition and warm-up. Please refer to the Safe Sport section of the Ohio Swimming, Inc. policies and procedures for further information regarding the use of visual recording devices. Deck changes are prohibited.

3 Conduct of Meet/Rules (cont.): It is understood and agreed that USA Swimming shall be free from any liabilities or claims for damages arising by reason of injuries to anyone during the conduct of the event. Operation of a drone, or any other flying apparatus, is prohibited over the venue (pools, athlete/coach areas, spectator areas and open ceiling locker rooms) any time athletes, coaches, officials and/or spectators are present. ( J*) Host club reserves the right to execute fly over starts to keep the meet moving in a timely manner. Only coaches displaying proof of current USA Swimming membership will be permitted on deck. Please inform parents of team members that they will not be permitted on the pool deck unless they are officials or other non-athlete members of USA Swimming who display current credentials. Swimmers with Disabilities: Warm-Up Procedures: Ohio Swimming welcomes swimmers with a disability. Coaches/club entry contact should: A. Enter the swimmer on electronic or the paper entry form; B. Provide advance notice of any necessary accommodations; C. List in the with the electronic entry (or on paper) the swimmer s name, entry times, strokes/distances and days/sessions. Preferred seeding is with the swimmer s same age group in either the same distance race or a longer distance race (i.e., 50 free during the 100 free). Exceptions to this should be listed in necessary accommodations. No Diving or Racing Starts allowed from the blocks or edge of pool. Swimmers must enter the pool feet first in a cautious manner with one hand in contact with the pool edge. There are no assigned lanes for warm-ups, however, Meet Director may direct teams to share lanes based on number of swimmers. Coaches may have control over their lane/s, so long as safety is not compromised and OSI warm up guidelines are observed. If sprint lanes are needed, please see Meet Referee. With the consent of the Meet Director or Meet Referee, the host club may modify the time schedule or recommend lane assignments. Such changes shall be announced and/or posted prominently in the pool area. Awards and Scoring: Individual events Medals will be given for 1 st -3 rd and awards will be given 4 th -8 th for all 12 & Under events except when entered in open events. Relay events Medals will be given for 1 st -3 rd in all 12 & Under events Open events will be scored and 15 & Over. Heat winners will receive awards during the morning sessions. Swimmers who are deck entered swim for time only and will not be eligible for medals, awards, or scoring points for those events. 4 Concessions: Vendors: Parking: Final Results: Food and drinks will be available for purchase during all four sessions, and spectators are encouraged to patronize the concessions area. Hospitality for coaches and officials will provide meals and refreshments adjacent to the pool deck. A full-service swim vendor will be open for all of your equipment needs.
