10 Governance Report Current Constitution Proposed Revision Rationale Current Logo New BTSC Logo Reflect new BTSC Logo in alignment with overall club branding strategy. ARTICLE III: MEMBERSHIP Section 4. Honorary Membership, without fees, in the Barrie Trojan Swim Club may be awarded by a general meeting of the voting membership upon the recommendation of the Board. ARTICLE IV: OFFICERS Section 1: The Board will consist of a minimum of seven (7) and no more than eleven (11) elected from the voting membership, a Past Chairperson. ARTICLE III: MEMBERSHIP Section 4. (rev. Oct `15) Honorary Membership, without fees, in the Barrie Trojan Swim Club may be awarded by a general meeting of the voting membership upon the recommendation of the Board. An Honorary Member has all voting member rights. Honorary Members retain their membership for a maximum of four years at which time they may be re- awarded by a general meeting of the voting membership upon the recommendation of the Board. ARTICLE IV: OFFICERS Section 1: (rev. Oct `15) The Board will consist of a minimum of seven (7) and no more than eleven (11) elected from the voting membership and a Past Chairperson. To specify the rights and process involved in Honorary Membership. To correct a grammatical error.
11 Governance Report ARTICLE IV: OFFICERS Section 4: Eligibility (rev. Oct `15) a) To become a Director of the Barrie Trojan Swim Club a person must be a voting member of the club. b) Any individual who receives remuneration from the Barrie Trojan Swim Club for duties performed in not eligible to serve as a Director of the Board. ARTICLE IV: OFFICERS Section 4: Eligibility (rev. Oct `15) a) To become a Director of the Barrie Trojan Swim Club a person must be a voting member or Honorary Member of the club. b) Any individual who receives remuneration from the Barrie Trojan Swim Club for duties performed in not eligible to serve as a Director of the Board. To clarify that an Honorary Member to become a Director of the Board and to clarify at which point in time the Past Chairperson may stand for election to the Board. c) Two board positions may not be filled by representatives of the same family. d) The members of the Board may be elected for no more than two (2) consecutive terms. 26 Annual Goals SWIMMING EXCELLENCE GROWTH OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE High Performance: Qualify 4 swimmers for Olympic Trials Achieve 1 swim in finals at Trials Championship Meet Qualifiers: Achieve 8 SN qualifiers Achieve 14 AGN qualifiers Achieve 16 EN qualifiers Championship Meet Cub Rankings: Place top 5 at ON Provincial Championships Place top 10 at both the Winter and Summer Festivals Win SC and LC Regional Championships Achieve season average swimmer attendance at championship meets above 85% Achieve 228 competitive swimmers and 331 pre-competitive swimmers registered with BTSC. Develop a Pool Access Plan & established 2015/2016 goals with ultimate focus on establishing a 50m pool in the Simcoe County area. Update & execute the Marketing Plan with established 2015/2016 goals. Build meet management and officiating bench strength. Increase the number officials and meet managers Effectively transition to Swim ON s new officiating plan Achieve the budget. Develop Board Policy documents and build SOP s. Review Operational positions and processes. Actively promote positive swimmer, coach and parent relations. Participate with the Aquatic Sports Council to achieve CCES Club Excellence Level 1 certification. Create and execute a club survey to identify improvement opportunities. Work with Swim Ontario to promote strategic alignment. FUNDRAISING TECHNICAL EXCELLENCE COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP Build & execute the Fundraising Plan with established 2015/2016 goals. Review Bingo management process. Attract an anchor Corporate sponsor. Leverage Rotary Club relationship to explore potential funding partnership. Build a Fundraising Education Platform Transition Fundraising Committee to Operational Management Initiate meet timing equipement upgrading. Review and upgrade dry land and sport medicine programs. All competitive coaches to attend at least one coaching development activity. Continue to build the BTSC brand by supporting community events. Update & execute the Marketing Plan with established 2015/2016 goals.
