6 District Mission Statements. 1. NMTA: "To Promote, Develop, and Service the Game of Tennis." 2. NEMA: To manage, serve, and promote the game of tennis in the Northeast Michigan District, at all levels of play. To assist member teams and participants in their various forms of involvement with tennis. To adhere to the rules and guidelines of the great sport of tennis. To encourage and facilitate the involvement of as many people as possible in tennis activities. 3. SEMT: "Growing the Sport of Tennis" 4. WMTA: Our mission statement is: to promote, develop, grow and service the game of tennis throughout the Western Michigan Tennis Association district. 5. CHICAGO: To PROVIDE tennis opportunities through USTA programs for all age groups and all skill levels throughout the Chicago metropolitan area, including the economically disadvantaged and the physically impaired. To PROMOTE a life long healthy and pleasurable athletic endeavor through the development and implementation of quality tennis-related programs. To FOSTER individual growth, good sportsmanship and fair play through recreation, social interaction, and individual and team competition. To EDUCATE players, parents, coaches, tournament directors and others on the rules and regulations of USTA tournament play and USTA programs, and to the goals, objectives and mission of the Chicago District Tennis Association. 6. OVTA: to provide opportunities to grow tennis, a game of a lifetime, by promoting USTA and USTA/Midwest Section programs; by coordinating, supporting and promoting Area Associations tennis activities; and by sharing ideas and practices through all Area Associations. 7. Wisconsin: to promote, develop and service the game of tennis in the USTA Wisconsin District. Our charter is to focus on the establishment of competitive, developmental, educational and recreational programs for individuals of all ages and skill levels without regard to race, creed, color or national origin. The USTA Wisconsin District also promotes health, character, fair play, sportsmanship and social responsibility through tennis.
7 8. Midsouth Illinois: Promote, Develop, and Service the Game of Tennis throughout Middle and Southern Illinois. 9. Northern Illinois: To Promote, Develop, and Service the Game of Tennis. 10. Central Indiana: Our areas of focus are: Improve internal and external communications, Engage and energize volunteers and Increase tennis participation. 11. Northern Indiana: To Promote and Develop the Growth of Tennis. 12. North East Ohio: To promote, develop, and service the game of tennis in our district. 13. North West Ohio: Our district goal is to promote, develop and service the game of tennis while focusing on the competitive, developmental, educational as well as recreational programs for individuals of all ages and skill levels.
