2 Middle School Athletics Reminders Practice Times: Athletes participating in VB or BB will begin practice at 7am. They need to have arrived sooner in order to warm up and be ready to start at 7. The gym will be opened most days by 6:30. Athletes not participating in a sport are considered off season and will begin their workouts at 7:45 am. They need to arrive by 7:30 am and need to be ready to start at 7:45 am. Practice times for track and field will be announced closer to the season. Practice attire: Once issued, athletes will be required to wear their school issued athletics uniform during athletics. During volleyball season only, athletes may wear spandex, with a minimum inseam of 3 inches. They are only allowed to wear these in the gym, and must cover up with their athletics shorts if we leave the gym. Volleyball players need to provide their own BLACK knee pads. Athletic shoes should be worn at all times during athletics. They need to be suitable for running. We will be running daily. Athletes may bring an extra pair of shoes to change into when we leave the gym. Locker Rooms: All athletes are to store everything in their lockers any time they are not physically in the locker room. There should be nothing left out during practice. Chromebooks must be locked in student s locker. Athletes should leave their athletic clothes in the designated cart/bin after each practice session. They will be washed and returned to the locker rooms each day. Athletes should lock their lockers after each use. This includes during practice. Travel Requirements: Students who are participating in a sporting event must travel with the team on the bus in order to participate. Students may ride home with their parents after their parents have signed out with their coach. Parents must provide a written letter or indicating if their child is riding home with someone other than their parent. Students who are academically ineligible will not be allowed to travel on the bus with the teams.

3 Miscellaneous: Athletes who miss practice will be required to complete a make up workout in order to be allowed to participate in the game that week. Students must maintain an average of 70 or higher in all classes in order to participate in sports. Students who are ineligible will be shifted to offseason until the next grade check. Athletes who are injured or sick will only be excused one day with a parent note. If it is bad enough to need to sit out multiple days, we need to get a note from a medical professional. They will be allowed to participate again only when they are cleared by that professional.
