FRESNO STATE & UNLV San Diego State will be at home this week for a pair of Mountain West matches. SDSU s week gets underway on Thursday, Nov. 5, when it hosts Fresno State for a 6:00 p.m. (PT) contest on Aztec Court. Two days later (Saturday, Nov. 7), the Aztecs will face UNLV at 6:00 p.m. (PT) on its home floor. Live stats will be available for both matches this weekend with links located at GoAztecs.com. In addition, live video streaming of the two contests will be available at the SDSU web site. SERIES RECORDS San Diego State s all-time record vs. Fresno State is since the team s first faced each other during the 1980 season. The Aztecs won the match against the Bulldogs in Fresno in five sets earlier this season and have won six of the last seven contests vs. Fresno State. The Aztecs are 15-3 vs. FSU in San Diego, 7-7 in Fresno and 6-0 in matches on neutral courts. The Aztecs record vs. UNLV stands at in a series that began in 1985 when both schools were members of the PCAA. The schools were also in the Western Athletic Conference together before joining the Mountain West in UNLV has won four of the last five meetings including the contest in Las Vegas in early October. SDSU is 15-4 vs. the Rebels in San Diego, 9-12 in Las Vegas and 0-2 on neutral courts. HEAD COACH DEITRE COLLINS-PARKER San Diego State Head Coach Deitre Collins-Parker is in her seventh season with the Aztecs after being named the fourth head coach in program history prior to the 2009 campaign. Her record at SDSU is (.530). She previously served as head coach at UNLV for eight seasons ( ) and at Cornell for five years ( ). Her 19-year career record stands at (.485). A three-time All-American as a player at the University of Hawai i, she led the Rainbow Wahine to consecutive national titles ( ) and was named the national player of the year twice. She was a member of the U.S. Olympic Team and competed at the Goodwill Games and Pan Am Games prior to playing professionally in Europe for four years. The Bulldogs are led by outside hitters Zana Bowens (3.01 kps, 2.81 dps) and Aleisha Coates (2.85 kps, 2.40 dps). Carly Scarbrough is also averaging 2.85 kills and a team high 0.72 blocks per set. UNLV s record stands at (6-5 MW) and the Rebels will visit Nevada Thursday evening prior to facing SDSU. Top players for UNLV include middle blocker Bree Hammel (3.02 kps, 1.15 bps) and outside hitter Ceannia Kincade (2.39 kps, 2.19 dps). Middle blocker Ashely Owens ranks second the Mountain West in blocking at 1.48 per set. LITTLE ON THE ATTACK Baylee Little set a career high with 17 kills in the win over New Mexico on Oct. 24. Her 18.5 points in that match was also a career best. Little has been in double figures in kills in six of SDSU s past nine contests. She tied her season high with five total blocks in the match vs. Air Force last week (Oct. 22). She ranks second on the team in kills overall (2.30 per set) and third in league matches (2.27 per set). PSOMA LEADS HITTERS Freshman Alexandra Psoma has averaged 2.47 kills per set in SDSU s four matches. She had a career best three blocks in the match at Colorado State last Thursday (Oct. 29) She had a career-high 13 digs along with 14 kills vs. New Mexico on Oct. 24 to record her second double-double of the season. Her 19 points in the match vs. Air Force on Oct 22 were a career best. Her two service aces against Air Force were a personal best. She recorded the second-most kills in match by an Aztec this season when she had 18 vs. Denver on Saturday, Aug. 29. She also registered a dozen digs in that contest for her first career double-double as an Aztec. Psoma currently leads the team with an overall average of 2.45 kills per set and a mark of 2.59 kills per set in conference matches. BOLDEN ON THE OFFENSIVE Defensive specialist Dani Bolden led the Aztecs with 10 kills in the contest at Colorado State on Oct. 29. She was the lone Aztec to reach double figures in kills in either of SDSU s two matches last week. She has been in double figures in kills in three of SDSU s past five outings. Bolden, who missed the Oct. 22 match vs. Air Force with a sprained ankle, returned for the New Mexico contest on Oct. 24 and recorded her second career doubledouble with 12 kills and 10 digs. She had recorded her first career double-double in the match against Boise State on Oct. 17 when she finished with 19 kills and 11 digs. The 19 kills vs. Boise State represented a career high and tied for the most by an Aztec this season. She also recorded a season-best four service aces in that match and her 24.0 points was a career high as well. HARRIS SOLID AT THE NET Redshirt freshman Deja Harris ranks seventh in the Mountain West in league matches with a.346 hitting percentage. She is the only freshman to rank among the league s top 10 in that category. She had a career-high 19 kills in the victory at Fresno State on Oct. 10, the most kills in a match by an Aztec this season. Her 21.0 points in that match were also her career high. Her.700 hitting percentage in the match at New Mexico on Sept. 24 was a career best as she had 15 kills with only one error on 20 attacks. She had a career-high 10-block performance at UC Santa Barbara on Sept. 19 that included two solo efforts and eight assists. PRITCHARD AT LIBERO Sophomore libero Devyn Pritchard has averaged 3.50 digs per set over SDSU s last four matches. She has finished in double figures in digs in 11 of the last 13 contests since becoming the starting libero. She has recorded at least one assist in each of the past 12 matches. She registered a season-high two service aces in the matches against Utah State and Boise State (Oct. 15 and 17). She set a career high with 31 digs in the win at Fresno State on Oct. 10. She also had a career-best six assists in that match. In the contest at UNLV two days earlier (Oct. 8), she recorded a then-career-best 23 digs to average 6.0 dps for the week. Her 4.20 digs per set average in league matches ranks eighth in the conference this week. FUZIE CONSISTENT Emma Fuzie, a junior transfer from Pepperdine, is hitting.310 over the last seven matches in which she has appeared. She tied her SDSU career high with six blocks in the win over New Mexico on Oct. 24. She had equaled her personal best with 11 kills in contest vs. Air Force two days earlier (Oct. 22). In that match vs. the Falcons she had a career-high 14.0 points as well. She has recorded five or more block in a match on seven occasions this season. Her career high of five digs came at UNLV on Oct. 8. UTCHEN DOUBLE-DOUBLE Freshman setter Lauren Utchen recorded her first collegiate doubledouble with 20 assists and 14 digs in the win at Fresno State on Oct. 10. The 14 digs represented a career high. She added her second double-double with 27 assists and 11 digs in the match against Boise State on Oct. 17. She had just missed a double-double in the previous match at UNLV (Oct. 8) when she finished with 18 assists and nine digs. CAGE GETS HER DIGS IN Alexis Cage recorded a career-high 16 digs vs. Air Force on Oct. 22. Cage s mark of 2.22 digs per set in league matches ranks second on the team behind libero Devyn Pritchard. She turned in a career-high five blocks in the match vs. Boise State on Oct. 17. She recorded her fourth double-figure kill contest of the season when she had 10 in the match at Air Force on Sept. 26. Her.471 hitting percentage and 9.5 points in that contest were both personal season highs. That came three days after she had a season-high 12 kills vs. Boise State on Oct. 17. Sandberg turned in a season-high seven blocks in that match vs. Boise State as well. Over SDSU s three matches during the weekend of Sept she recorded a.500 hitting percentage. Included in those numbers was a personal best.625 attack mark vs. UC Santa Barbara. JONES SETTING IT UP Junior setter Hailey Jones, a transfer from Irvine Valley JC, recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 26 assists and 10 digs in the contest at UNLV on Oct. 8. Her mark of 6.07 assists per set ranks 10th in the Mountain West this week. Jones 57 assists in the match vs. CSU Bakersfield were the most by an Aztec since Johnna Fouch recorded 61 against Fresno State on Nov. 3, 2012.

Over SDSU s three matches, Saba averaged 4.50 digs per set and also had five assists and three service aces. In the win over Bakersfield she recorded a career-high 29 digs. Saba set a career best with eight assists in the win over Eastern Washington on Sept. 11. ALL-TOURNAMENT AZTEC II Junior outside hitter Baylee Little was named to the all-tournament team at last weekend s Outrigger Resorts Volleyball Challenge in Honolulu. Over SDSU s three matches she averaged 2.00 kills, 0.78 digs and 0.33 blocks per set. She also recorded four service aces in the Aztecs win over Eastern Washington and hit.588 with 11 kills in that match. DOUBLE-DOUBLES Four Aztecs have recorded at least one double-double during the 2015 campaign. Two Aztecs recorded double-doubles during the season-opening San Francisco Invitational (Aug ). Setter Hailey Jones did so twice with 47 assists-15 digs vs. Denver and 57 assists- 11 digs vs. CSU Bakersfield. She also added double-doubles at Air Force on Sept. 26 (25 assists, 10 digs) and at UNLV on Oct. 8 (26 assists, 10 digs). Alexandra Psoma had 18 kills and 12 digs in the match vs. Denver. Danielle Bolden has double-doubles in two of her last three matches: vs. Boise State on Oct. 17 (19 kills, 11 digs) and vs. New Mexico on Oct. 24 (12 kills, 10 digs). In addition, setter Lauren Utchen has registered pair of double-doubles: at Fresno State on Oct. 10 (20 assists, 14 digs) and vs. Boise State (27 assists, 11 digs). AZTEC VETERANS SDSU returns three starters and the libero from a team that compiled a mark of overall and 9-9 in Mountain West play (tie-6th). Those starters include outside hitters Alexis Cage and Ciara Brown plus middle blocker Kaja Sandberg and libero Alexa Saba. Cage and Brown finished one-two in kills for the Aztecs at 3.00 and 2.75 per set respectively. Sandberg hit.284 and averaged 1.91 kills and 0.99 blocks per set while Saba had 2.86 digs per set from the back line. Other returnees who saw significant playing time include outside hitter Baylee Little (1.96 kps) and middle blocker Cassie O Hara (1.35 kps, 0.81 bps) along with defensive specialists Danielle Bolden (1.80 dps) and Devyn Pritchard (2.97 dps). THE REDSHIRT Also back is redshirt freshman middle blocker Deja Harris. Harris played briefly in two matches early in the 2014 campaign before missing the remainder of the season due to injury. In the three sets in which she appeared she totaled one kill, one service ace and a block. FIVE FRESHMEN Among the eight new players on the roster this season are five true freshmen. Outside hitter Alexandra is a member of the Greek national team who was named Rookie of the Year in the Greek national league s top division. Outside hitter Alexis Harris was a second-team all-state selection in Nevada and is the younger sister of middle blocker Deja Harris. Outsider hitter Bailey Osborn was an allstate selection by MaxPreps and was her league s Player of the Year last season. Setter Lauren Utchen was an all-league honoree and league player of the year as senior in Outside hitter Alyssa Mathis was an allarea honoree the past two seasons at her high school in Florida. TRANSFERS ADDED The Aztecs have also added one fouryear transfer and a pair of junior college athletes to their 2015 roster. Emma Fuzie comes to SDSU after two seasons as a middle blocker at Pepperdine. Setter Hailey Jones was a two-time allstate selection at Irvine Valley JC where she led her team to the state championship last season. Middle blocker Jordan Conole arrives at SDSU from Pierce JC where she was a second-team all-western States Conference honoree as a freshman. UP NEXT San Diego State will be on the road for its next three matches before returning home for its season finale on Nov. 24. That road trip opens with a match against Boise State on Thursday, Nov. 12, at 7:00 p.m. (MT) in Bronco Gym. Two days later (Saturday, Nov. 14) the Aztecs visit Logan, Utah, for a contest against Utah State scheduled to get underway at 7:00 p.m. (MT).
