The two squads will meet at Jeffrey Field for a noon match. NU has picked up the victory in each of the last three seasons over PSU with a 2-1 victory in both 2014 and 2015 and a 1-0 win in The Blue and White will be looking for its first win over the Wildcats since the 2013 season when it earned a 2-1 double overtime victory. A win over the Wildcats will secure Penn State the No. 7 seed in the Big Ten Tournament but a loss will send it into the play in match against Rutgers, who the Nittany Lions defeated 6-2 for its first Big Ten Conference win of

However, NU has played six ranked teams in the 2017 season, taking setbacks to five top-10 squads this season and one top-25 team. The Wildcats have scored 17 goals this season and given up 27, averaging 9.4 shots per match. Tommy Katsiyiannis has a team-best four goals on the season for eight points, while Mac Mazzola has found the back of the net three times this year and had two assists for eight points. Camden Buescher has also tallied eight points with two goals and four assists. Northwestern has used all three of its goalkeepers in the 2017 season trying to find the best fit. Robbie White has played in the most matches with seven starts. White has an.800 save percentage and has given up 11 goals on the season, while Francisco Tomasino has started six games with six goals against and 13 saves. Finally, Miha Miskovic has five matches under his belt with 18 saves. SENIOR SPOTLIGHTS The Penn State men s soccer team will honor the career of its five seniors this weekend against the Wildcats. Aymar Sigue - Transferred from Tulsa to play in 30 matches with 17 starts for Penn State...Has scored four goals and had one assist for nine points as a Nittany Lion...Will graduate with a degree in energy business and finance. Cameron Steele - Transferred from N.C. State for his final two seasons...played in 21 matches with 11 starts for the Blue and White...Will graduate with a degee in telecommunications. Dani Marks - Has played in 44 matches with 39 starts on the back line for the Nittany Lions...Is a two-time captain and Academic All- Big Ten honoree...has one last year of eligibility after being redshirted in Majoring in political science. Sam Bollinger - Walked on as a sophomore before earning a scholarship with Penn State...Has played in 42 matches with 12 starts...scored four goals and has two assists...is a member of Schreyer Honors College, a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and a 2016 Big Ten Distinguished Scholar...Will graduate with a degree in chemistry and is applying to medical school. FINDING THEIR STRIDE With the season coming to a close, the Nittany Lions have found their stride in the last few matches. Penn State doubled its goal total from the first 13 matches of the season in two games with six goals against Rutgers and two against JMU. Individually, freshman Ethan Beckford has scored in the past two matches for Penn State with two goals against Rutgers and the game-winner against JMU to bring his stat line to five goals and one assist for 11 points. 3

Twice named Big Ten Coach of the Year in 2012 and 2013 by leading the Nittany Lions to back-to-back Big Ten titles, Warming has added a pair of trips to the NCAA Sweet 16 (2010, 2013), and led the Lions to three-straight postseason appearances from The Nittany Lions posted an overall record in the 2016 season with three players earning Big Ten honors. Senior Connor Maloney was an unanimous First Team All-Big Ten selection earning the honors for the third time in his career, while Robby Sagel notched second team honors and Pierre Reedy was named to the All-Freshman Team. Maloney also earned NSCAA All-Great Lakes Region Second Team honors under Warming s direction after leading the team with 21 points which included eight goals and five assists. Warming led the Nittany Lions to a overall record and a Big Ten Conference record in the 2015 campaign. The Blue and White earned an overtime victory over Michigan State in the Big Ten Tournament play in match before falling to eventual Big Ten Champion Ohio State in the quarterfinals in overtime. C. Maloney paced Penn State, starting 17 matches with a team leading 17 points that included seven goals and two assists en route to his second First Team All-Big Ten honor. Freshman Austin Maloney also made his mark on the program, earning All-Freshman Team honors after starting 14 games with two assists and a.800 shots on goal percentage. Of its seven wins in 2016, six of them came by way of the shutout with senior goalkeeper Matt Bersano tallying five and junior Evan Finney earning one. Freshman Ethan Beckford scored for the second-straight match for the Blue and White with his second-straight penalty kick, which proved to be the game-winner, when JMU was charged with a handball in the 60th minute. Redshirt-senior Sam Bollinger netted his first goal of the season for the Nittany Lions in the first half of action, marking his fourth point of the year, while senior Aymar Sigue and sophomore Kyle Perno each had an assist on the Bollinger goal. BECKFORD TALLIES TWO-GOAL MATCH Freshman Ethan Beckford is the first men s soccer student-athlete to have a two-goal game since Connor Maloney netted two goals against No. 22 Akron in a double overtime tie Oct. 18, Beckford knocked in a penalty kick before scoring less than 20 seconds later to put Penn State up 4-1 over the Scarlet Knights. The Manchester, England native led the Nittany Lions tallied five of Penn State s 17 points in its 6-2 victory over Rutgers For his efforts, Beckford was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week and TopDrawerSoccer. com Honorable Mention Player of the Week. PSU HAS HUGE OUTING AGAINST RUTGERS The Nittany Lions earned a decisive 6-2 victory over Rutgers for its first Big Ten Conference win of the season. Penn State s six goals and five assists are the most since it earned a 6-2 victory over Penn on Sept. 24, Eight Nittany Lions tallied points on the day with freshman Ethan Beckford scoring back-to-back goals and Callum Pritchatt earning two assists. The Nittany Lions had 17 points on the day with six goals and five assists which is the most since they had 17 points against Penn in a 6-2 victory on Sept. 24, BECKFORD NAMED TOP-100 FRESHMEN BY TOPDRAWERSOCCER.COM Freshman Ethan Beckford was named to TopDrawerSoccer.com s Freshman Top 100 Rankings for Division I men s soccer. The Manchester, England native has played 868 minutes in 11 starts in his first year on the pitch for the Blue and White. Beckford ties for a team-high two goals and has put 13 of his 22 shots on goal for a.591 shots on goal percentage this season. RAINY DAY IN EAST LANSING TRIPS UP NITTANY LIONS In a match that would see the first goal scored as the winning team with heavy rain falling, it was the No. 6 Spartans of Michigan State who would take the 1-0 win over Penn State in the Big Ten Conference match. The Nittany Lions managed nine shots on the day but were unable to find the net, while the Spartans took 11 shots with one goal. Redshirt-freshman goalkeeper Josh Levine made four saves on the day, while Callum Pritchatt, Aaron Molloy and Ryan Gallagher all took two shots for the Blue and White. 4

Levine made his first collegiate save in the final nine minutes against Temple when he came in as a sub and has since had two double-digit save efforts for the Blue and White. The Rockville Centre, New York native made 11 saves against the potent No. 1 Indiana offense before getting back on the pitch three days later and making 10 saves against Pittsburgh. In his first collegiate start against then-no. 20 Michigan, Levine made nine saves for the Nittany Lions in the double overtime loss. BECKFORD FINDS BACK OF THE NET FOR SECOND TIME Freshman Ethan Beckford has scored two goals in the past three matches for the Nittany Lions. The freshman forward scored his first collegiate goal against then-no. 20 Michigan to give Penn State the lead in the first half of action. After the team was shut out against No. 1 Indiana and time was dwindling down against Pittsburgh, Beckford raced down the field and scored the equalizer with less than a minute remaining in the match to send it into overtime. PRITCHATT SCORES FIRST CAREER GOAL Freshman Callum Pritchatt scored his first career goal donning the Blue and White at Pittsburgh. Pritchatt quickly responded to a Panther goal in the 31st minute when he knotted the score against Pitt at 1-1 as he brought the ball down the left side of the field and took the off-centered shot into the far right corner of the net in the 37th minute. DEFENSE HAS STRONG OUTING AGAINST No. 1 OFFENSE Despite coming away with a 1-0 loss to No. 1 Indiana, Penn State had a strong showing against the Hoosiers. Redshirt-freshman Josh Levine made a career-high 11 saves in the match and gave up just one goal. Levine has stepped up as the new starter for the Nittany Lions, making 21 saves in 236:07 minutes of play. PENN STATE HAS BIG CHANCES AGAINST No. 1 INDIANA Freshman Ethan Beckford was the offensive leader for the Nittany Lions against Indiana with three shots on net the Hoosier goalkeeper Trey Muse was barely able to get a hand on to keep the IU lead in check. Penn State found a stretch of offense in the 72nd minute, when Beckford tore down the left side of the field and took a close range shot, but Muse was able to get his hand on the ball at the last second to maintain the Indiana lead. Beckford struck again in the 78th minute when he got his heel on a ball served in from Austin Maloney but again Muse was there to make the huge stop for the Hoosiers. 5

BECKFORD NETS GOAL FOR NITTANY LIONS Freshman Ethan Beckford was poised to be a goal scorer for the Nittany Lions in the 2017 season and found the break through he had been looking for against No. 20 Michigan. The freshman forward connected on a header in the first half of the match to net his first collegiate goal and put the Blue and White up 1-0 over the rank Big Ten Conference opponent. LEVINE MAKES FIRST COLLEGIATE APPEARANCE Redshirt-freshman Josh Levine made his first collegiate appearance against the Owls of Temple, standing between the pipes for the final 37 minutes of the match. Levine made one save and did not give up a goal in his first collegiate appearance. FINNEY KEEPS NITTANY LIONS IN MATCH Senior goalkeeper Evan Finney allowed one goal against Wisconsin in the Nittany Lion s third Big Ten Conference match of the season but made five saves including two in the 83rd and 85th minute. In the 2017 season, Finney has made 29 saves to rank third in the Big Ten Conference, while his 3.60 saves per game tie for third in the league. BRINGOLF LIFTS PENN STATE TO NON-CONFERENCE WIN Sophomore defender Mitchel Bringolf scored his first career goal against Detroit Mercy in Penn State s 2-0 victory. Following a Nittany Lion corner kick in the 51st minute of the match, the ball bounced around inside the box before finding the foot of a striking Bringolf. The sophomore defender blasted the ball into the back of the net from only three yards out on a strike from the right side of the pitch. The goal marks the first points of Bringolf s career, although he has helped pitch seven shutouts being a part of the backline the past two seasons. CURRAN GIVES BLUE AND WHITE FIRST MULTI-GOAL MATCH OF 2017 Junior Mac Curran not only netted his first goal since his freshman season but also gave the Nittany Lions their first multi-goal match of the 2017 season against Detroit Mercy. Curran gathered the ball at his feet off a Titan defender and ripped an one-touch shot from 18-yards out into the middle of the net to carry Penn State onto a 2-0 victory over Detroit Mercy. Curran now has three career goals donning the Blue and White. 6

7 2017 NOTES AND HEADLINES FINNEY RECORDS EIGHTH CAREER SHUTOUT Redshirt-senior goalkeeper Evan Finney earned his eighth career shutout as a Nittany Lion and second of 2017 against Detroit Mercy. Finney made just three saves in the match as the Penn State defense allowed 10 shots in total in the 90 minute match. This season, Finney has made 24 saves and has two shutouts for the Blue and White. HARD PLAY AGAINST No. 3 MARYLAND After playing three-straight double overtime games and a road match against Ohio State, the Nittany Lions hung tough against the No. 3 Terrapins in their first Big Ten Conference home game of the season. Penn State kept the powerful Maryland offense off the board for the entire first half of play before giving up a goal in the second half. The Blue and White suffered its third red card of the season, playing a man down for the remaining 18 minutes of the match. Despite being a man down, the Nittany Lions continued to battle offensively as the ball almost found the back of the net in the 84th minute when Penn State earned a corner kick that would find the head of Christian Sload. The header sailed high into the right corner of the net but a Terrapin defender was able to quickly get his body in front of the ball, keeping Penn State off the board. Being a man down resulted in one final security goal for the Terrapins in the remaining minutes of the match as Penn State fell 2-0 at Jeffrey Field. SLOAD S WORK PAYS OFF Sophomore Christian Sload has been working hard on the offensive side of the ball. Sload found the golden goal against SFU in the 110th minute of the match. With 36 seconds left on the clock the Nittany Lions raced down the field as Aaron Molloy took the ball from the Red Flash and passed it up to a striking Mikey Conneh on the right side of the pitch. Conneh crossed the ball to Sload, who was coming from the left side of the field. Sload ripped the ball at a wide-open left side of the net to secure the 1-0 victory for the Blue and White in the 110th minute of play at Jeffrey Field. DEFENSE SECURES FIRST SHUTOUT OF 2017 Penn State earned its first shutout of the 2017 season with a 1-0 double overtime victory over Saint Francis. The backline allowed the Red Flash to take eight shots with only one reaching the net for goalkeeper Evan Finney. The shutout marked the seventh of Finney s career after he secured four in the 2016 campaign. MOLLOY MAKING WAVES Sophomore transfer Aaron Molloy came in strong for the Nittany Lions in his first three matches. Molloy has started all three games, playing all but four minutes for the Blue and White. The Dublin, Ireland native came into the season as the PDL Young Player of the Year after scoring seven goals for Reading United. Donning the Blue and White, Molloy has scored two goals in three games, including a shot from beyond the midfield line against Loyola Marymount. NITTANY LIONS MAKE PENN STATE DEBUT Five Nittany Lions made their Penn State debuts against Hofstra as Ethan Beckford, Aaron Molloy, Kyle Perno and Callum Pritchatt made their first starts donning the Blue and White and Ryan Holland came in as a sub in the second half. Beckford played 66 minutes in his first collegiate start with two shots, while Molloy played all but four minutes of the match with one shot on goal. Pritchatt held down the backline for the entirety of the match, Perno played 62 minutes for the Blue and White and Holland played eight minutes in the second half of action in his Penn State debut. CONTROLLING THE BALL Despite its tough loss against Hofstra in the season opener, Penn State controlled the ball for the majority of the match. The Nittany Lions outshot the Pride 15-9 with five shots on goal compared to Hofstra s two. COACHING CLOUT Among the elite coaches in the sport for the last three decades, head coach Bob Warming is back for his eighth season at Penn State. Warming has an incredible coaching pedigree, including 460 career Division I victories -- second all-time among active Division I coaches and ninth all-time at DI. He was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year in 2012 and 2013 after leading PSU to a pair of league titles. Furthermore, Warming leads all Division I active coaches with a 28 combined regular season and conference tournament championships. 7

8 2017 NOTES AND HEADLINES NEW YEAR, NEW LOOK With the loss of five starters, head coach Bob Warming brought in eight newcomers for the 2017 season including four freshman, three transfers and one walk-on. The 2021 class is comprised of forward Ethan Beckford, midfielder Mikey Conneh, defender Callum Pritchatt and midfielder Nick Rieple. Junior Ryan Holland transfers to Penn State after playing two seasons with Feather River Junior College, while Aaron Molloy comes from Keiser University and Kyle Perno transfers from UC Santa Barbara. Finally, redshirt-freshman Daniel Gonzalez joins the Nittany Lions as a walk-on. EXPANDING INTERNATIONALLY The Penn State men s soccer team features nine student-athletes who have traveled internationally to be a part of the squad. The team features student-athletes from Canada, the United Kingdom, Israel and Costa Rica. Returners Aymar Sigue and Mitchel Bringolf are both native of Canada with Sigue growing up in Alberta and Bringolf growing up in Quebec, while captain Dani Marks came to Penn State from Israel. The freshman class is comprised from three international student-athletes including: Ethan Beckford (Manchester, England), Mikey Conneh (Sheffield, Yorkshire) and Callum Pritchatt (Kinghurst, Birmingham). Finally, junior transfer Ryan Holland is from Leicestershire, United Kingdom, redshirt-freshman Daniel Gonzalez came to Penn State from Costa Rica and sophomore transfer Aaron Molloy is from Dublin, Ireland. STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE Head coach Bob Warming has put together a tough season for the Blue and White starting with two-time CAA regular-season champion Hofstra. The Nittany Lions will also take on three teams ranked in the United Soccer Coaches Association Preseason Poll, including No. 6 Maryland, No. 7 Indiana and No. 22 Michigan State. Penn State will face off with both Maryland and Indiana inside the friendly confines of Jeffrey Field but will make the trip out to East Lansing, Michigan to take on the Spartans of Michigan State. KEY RETURNERS The Nittany Lions return 19 student-athletes from the 2016 roster, including six starters. Senior Aymar Sigue returns as the leading goal scorer for the Blue and White with three goals in his first season as a Nittany Lion, while Austin Maloney, Pierre Reedy and Christian Sload all scored one goal in the 2016 season. On the backline, redshirt-junior captain Dani Marks and sophomore Mitchel Bringolf look to keep the opposition out of the box after helping the goalkeepers to five shutouts in the 2016 season. In net, all three keepers are expected to see time with Evan Finney and Arie Ammann both having starts in the 2016 season. Finney capped off the 2016 season with two Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors and recorded four shutouts which ranked fifth in the conference. Ammann earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors one time in his freshman campaign, while Josh Levine will look for his collegiate debut after using his redshirt in the 2016 season. THREE NITTANY LIONS LAND PRESEASON HONORS Redshirt-senior Evan Finney, sophomore Pierre Reedy and transfer Aaron Molloy each earned Big Ten Preseason Honors as announced by the conference office. Finney capped off the 2016 season with two Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors and recorded four shutouts which ranked fifth in the conference. The redshirt-senior also had an.810 save percentage to rank second in the Big Ten and third with a.082 goals against average and 0.31 shutouts per game average. Reedy earned himself a spot on the Big Ten All-Freshman team after starting all 18 matches for the Blue and White. The Kutztown, Pennsylvania native scored his first collegiate goal and the game-winner in the home finale against Wright State. Molloy joins Penn State after playing one year at Keiser. The Dublin, Ireland native was named PDL Young Player of the Year after scoring seven goals in the season as a member of Reading United. 8

9 2017 NOTES AND HEADLINES MARKS NAMED CAPTAIN FOR 2017 Redshirt-junior Dani Marks has been selected as the captain of the 2017 Penn State men s soccer team as announced by head coach Bob Warming. The 2017 season will mark the second time that Marks has earned the honor as he captained the team in the 2015 campaign. Marks has appeared in 28 matches with 24 starts in the backline in his two years on the pitch for the Blue and White. After sitting out his freshman season due to injury, Marks started 13 matches in the 2015 season as the captain of the Nittany Lions, helping the team to six shutouts on defense. Last season Marks logged 1,145 minutes on the pitch and landed one shot on goal, while helping the Blue and White to four shutouts. BIG TEN TOURNAMENT TO BE HELD AT GRAND PARK The Big Ten Men s Soccer Tournament will take place at Grand Park in Westfield, Indiana, as announced by the Big Ten. The men s semifinals and championship game are set for Nov. 10 and 12. Last year, the Big Ten Men s Soccer Tournament semifinals and championship game were played at the facility for the first time, with Maryland earning a 2-1 victory over Wisconsin in the final.
