Tickets also will be available inside Gate 4 at Hinkle Fieldhouse on Friday and at the northwest corner cket booth along New York Street adjacent to Carroll Stadium on Saturday. PARKING Spectator parking is available at both venues for $10 per vehicle. The lots adjacent to Hinkle Fieldhouse will be available on Friday and the Barnhill Garage at IUPUI on Saturday, which is located just north of the main cket entrance on New York Street. The garage will be credit cards only while surface parking lots will accept cash. GATES OPEN Gates open beginning at 5 pm ET on Friday and 9:30 am ET on Saturday (one hour prior to kickoff). MEDIA PARKING: While no specific media parking is available, we recommend using the Hinkle Fieldhouse parking lot on Friday and the Barnhill Parking Garage on Saturday which is just across New York Street to the north of the stadium. Each vehicle will be charged $10 to park. SEAT ASSIGNMENTS: Except where permanent lines have been installed for those that have ordered them, an open sea ng policy will be used in both press boxes. OFFICIAL PROGRAMS/BOX SCORES: Official programs will be available along with computer box scores following each championship match. Interviews may be conducted with players and coaches on the sidelines following the award ceremonies. POST-GAME GUIDELINES: IHSAAtv.org personnel will have priority in conduc ng interviews with coaches and players on the field immediately following each match. If me permits before the awards ceremony, addi onal interviews may be conducted. Otherwise, all interviews will be conducted off the field following the awards ceremony and team photograph session. 3 HAMMOND S ARMANDO GARCIA TO BE HONORED WITH OUTSTANDING OFFICIALS AWARD Armando Garcia of Hammond, is the recipient of the IHSAA Outstanding Soccer Official in the state of Indiana. Armando has been a licensed soccer official for the past 24 years with the Lake County Officials Associa on where he currently serves as the Soccer Chairperson. In addi on to his Associa on responsibili es, Armando has been instrumental in the recruitment, mentoring, and training of IHSAA soccer officials. He serves as one of the IHSAA s most highly respected clinicians. His dedica on and loyalty to his sport, our student athletes, his fellow officials, and the IHSAA have been excep onal. Mr. Garcia was selected for this honor by a commi ee represen ng the 24 officials Associa ons in Indiana. We have more than 7,000 officials licensed by the IHSAA. These officials work relessly to provide safe, compe ve environments for over 160,000 student athletes. During his career, Armando has given of his me and talent in working 21 IHSAA Soccer sec onal tournaments. He has been a part of 13 different regional crews, four semi-state crews, and will be lending his exper se this weekend in leading an officia ng crew in his second state finals appearance. 5 CLASS A BOYS STATE CHAMPIONSHIP NOTABLES FORT WAYNE CANTERBURY CAVALIERS (12-6-3) Soccer Coaches Poll: #3 Third-ranked Canterbury seeking record-breaking sixth state championship in boys soccer (currently ed with North Central of Indianapolis with five). With a victory, head coach Greg Mauch would win his record-breaking sixth state tle in boys soccer (currently ed with Jerry Li le of North Central of Indianapolis with five). School making state-leading 11th appearance in the boys soccer state finals and first since 2012 championship season. Cavaliers are 5-2 in state championship matches. Will face top-ranked Covenant Chris an of Indianapolis, the school it beat 5-0 in the 2012 Class A tle match. Junior Clayton Perry ranks among the state leaders with a Goals Against Average with 11 allowed in 15 matches this season. 6 CLASS A GIRLS STATE CHAMPIONSHIP NOTABLES WHEELER BEARCATS (21-0) Soccer Coaches Poll: #1 Top-ranked Wheeler advances to first soccer state championship match in school history. Bearcats seeking school s third state tle overall. With a victory, Wheeler would become just the second undefeated, un ed state champion joining the 2002 Carmel team which finished Wheeler returned seven starters from last year s 19-2 squad. Team won the Greater South Shore Conference championship with a 7-0 record this season. Bearcats turned away three ranked opponents during its tournament journey - defeated #15 Marque e Catholic 7-1 for the sec onal crown, #2 LaVille 5-0 in regional semifinals and #5 Fort Wayne Blackhawk Chris an 2-0 for the semistate championship. Wheeler, with 11 shutouts, has surrendered only 11 goals this season and only two during state tournament ac on. Junior Lyric Green is ed for fourth in state with 44 goals scored this year and sixth in points with 101. Junior Claudia Philips ranks ed for eighth in state with 20 assists. 7 CLASS 2A BOYS STATE CHAMPIONSHIP NOTABLES FORT WAYNE CONCORDIA LUTHERAN CADETS (17-2-4) Soccer Coaches Poll: #17 Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran boys soccer team making its first appearance in the soccer state finals this weekend. School won its first regional and semi-state championships in the last two weeks to reach the final match. Seventeenth-ranked Cadets have knocked off two other ranked teams this tournament defea ng #7 Marion and #20 Eastbrook, both at the regional in penalty kicks. Senior Max Miller ranks among the state leaders in point (53) and goals scored (21) according to MaxPreps.com sta s cs. Classmate Jon Mueller is ed for eighth in the state in Goals Against Average (0.672) with 12 allowed in 21 matches. Team returned six starters from last season s team. Concordia finished second this year in the Summit Athle c Conference with a 6-1 record. Head coach Kevin Macke is in his 17th season at Concordia. He is a 1991 graduate of the school. Both Evansville Memorial boys and girls teams will be vying for state championships this weekend. This is the ninth me the same school has had both genders represented in the state finals and the fourth me both Tigers teams have done so (1994, 2006 and 2008). Both Memorial teams won their respec ve state tles in 2008, the only me that has been accomplished in tournament history. Five other schools have had both teams advance to the state finals Carmel (1997), South Bend St. Joseph (2003), Lake Central (2005), Indianapolis Cathedral (2010) and Avon (2013). Carmel and South Bend St. Joseph had both teams play in their respec ve state championship matches but neither managed to pull off both tles. Tiger boys soccer teams are 3-0 in state championship matches (2007, 2008, A) including last year s 2-1 decision over Chesterton. Team is aiming for fourth state championship which would rank third-most in state history. A victory would be Head coach Bill Vieth s fourth state championship with the Tigers, third-most in state history. He is also a 1982 graduate of the school. Memorial defeated four ranked teams during its tournament trail - #9 Heritage Hills 2-0 and #2 Evansville Mater Dei 3-1 during sec onal play, #11 Washington 6-3 in the regional semifinal match and #4 Indianapolis Cardinal Ri er 3-0 for the semi-state crown. Team has won 14 consecu ve sec onal tles, the fourthlongest ac ve streak in the state. With four returning starters from last year s championship team, Tigers finished first in the Southern Indiana Athle c Conference this season with a 7-0 record. JOSEPH INDIANS (18-4-1) Soccer Coaches Poll: #4 Fourth-ranked South Bend St. Joseph returns to the state finals for first me in five season. Indians are chasing third girls soccer state tle which would e them with Evansville Memorial for second-most in state history. Five starters returned from last year s sec onal tle team. Won its 10th consecu ve sec onal crown with a 4-3 over me victory over #9 Mishawaka Marian. Went on to defeat three more ranked teams to reach state championship match - #17 Highland 4-0 in the regional semifinal, #14 West Lafaye e 5-0 in the regional final and #8 Bellmont 4-0 in the semi-state championship match. Team finished second in the Northern Indiana Conference this season with 9-1 record. The Indians join Penn as representa ves of the NIC in this year s championship finals. 10 CLASS 3A GIRLS STATE CHAMPIONSHIP NOTABLES PENN KINGSMEN (22-0-1) Soccer Coaches Poll: #1 Defending state champion Penn girls soccer team will compete in third consecu ve state championship match and enters the final match as the top-ranked team for second consecu ve year. Kingsmen making fi h appearance in the state finals and fourth trip to the state championship match overall. Team returned eight starters from last year s championship team which finished Penn has 19 shutouts in its 23 matches and has allowed only 4 goals all season. Penn s 120 goals this season are just shy of last year s team record of 123. The Kingsmen have also only allowed four goals all season. Penn captured its state-leading 11th sec onal championship with a 7-0 victory over LaPorte. Senior Kris na Lynch ranks fourth in the state with 105 points (44 goals, 17 assists). Her 44 goals are also fourthmost in the state and 17 assists rank ed for 16th. Junior teammate Brooke VanDyck s 14 assists also rank among the state s leaders. Senior goalkeeper Mackenzie Wood has allowed only four goals this season in 23 matches and her Goals Against Average ranks third in the state this season.
