1 23 rd Novemeber 2017 The President Volleyball and Beach Volleyball Clubs Dear Sir/Madam XMAS BEACH VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT The Saint Lucia Volleyball Association s ends the local Beach Volleyball Circuit with a final event for the year 2017 in the form of a XMAS BEACH VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT to be held on the 16 th of December and 17 th of December. This tournament is open to pairs and will be held at Pigeon Island near LANDINGS, Gros-Islet. This tournament will also facilitate the ranking of beach players for the upcoming year. Each Team should submit their names at the earliest. Registration is complete when players have submitted their registration form and paid the applicable fees in FULL. Please find below the tournament rules and regulations. 1. The Tournament will take place ideally over two days. From the Saturday to the Sunday starting at 8:30 am on each day. 2. The standard FIVB Beach Volleyball rules and regulations will be applicable. These rules can be downloaded at: BeachVolleyball_Rules_ EN-v05.pdf3. 3. All players should familiarize themselves with the rules and sanctions before registering. Players below the age of 21 should pay particular attention to rule The tournament will be the best of three (3) sets. (However alternatives may be used depending on the number of Teams who register). 5. Registration fee is $25.00 per player. Registration ends on the 14 th of December Late Registration will not be accepted.

2 6. No meals will be provided. Players are encouraged to walk with their necessary dietary requirements. 7. Players must be in uniform with the numbers 1 and 2 printed/stuck/written on their front and back. Please see the attached Standard Beach Uniform layout. 8. Players will be given the playing schedule on the 15 th of December via or other electronic means. Failure to be ON-TIME AT the start of the scheduled match will result in forfeit and a loss of registration fees. 9. Registration will not be allowed after the 14 th of December. NO EXCEPTIONS. This is in order to allow the Local Organizing Committee to create the Tournament Schedule in advance. 10. Final details of the tournament format will be indicated on the 15 th of December, 2017 at a Technical Meeting. Time and Venue will be communicated on the 14 th of December Any alterations to these above rules will be communicated to players on or before the start of the tournament. 12. All teams are required to either run lines, ball retrieve or score regardless if they have a scheduled match later in the day or not. A schedule with these duties will be later posted and subject to changes as the tournament progresses. 13. Prizes will be awarded to 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd place positions for each gender. 1 st place - $ with a trophy, 2 nd place - medal and 3 rd place medal 14. No players under the age of 21 can collect a monetary prize. Prizes for these players will be given to the club of their choice through the President of the Saint Lucia Volleyball Association. 15. In the eventuality of first loss by a team in the finals (double elimination format) a golden set to 21 pts will be played. We wish you tremendous success in this event to end the year.
