1 FALL / WINTER 2017 Mobility Plus News DEAR MOBILITY PLUS CUSTOMER, We are fortunate to live in a part of the world where nature has one last fling before settling down for a long winter s nap. Days are shorter and temperatures have become crisp. Although nature may slow down, Mobility Plus is continuing to look at opportunities to make travelling easier. We have been testing a mobile app that will allow our clients to book, confirm and cancel their trips and hope to launch it early next year. In the near future, the app will also track your vehicle, so you know exactly where it is and how long it will take to arrive at your location. For those of you who are apprehensive about new technology, or just need to practice, we will have a tutorial video available on yrt.ca. As well, York Region Transit has built a Travel Training Centre at 55 Orlando Avenue, the Operations, Maintenance and Storage Facility. The Centre will help customers learn how to travel independently on public transit. Seniors, newcomers, students and people with disabilities can book an appointment with a travel trainer to learn how to trip plan, pay a fare, board a bus and familiarize themselves with transit. In closing, we want to remind our clients that safety is our number one priority. Passengers are to always be escorted, secured and driven safely in our vehicles. If you have any concerns about riding on our system, please let us know as soon as possible. Your feedback helps us ensure you are always provided with the safety you are entitled to on Mobility Plus. Sharon Doyle Manager, Mobility Plus York Region Transit
