September and October 2018 Local to Parbold, Scarisbrick and Billing Wigan.
16 Costs Cost will be This includes: DofE registration fee Expedition training day/sessions Practice expedition (2 days, 1 night) Qualifying expedition (2 days, 1 night) Tent and stove. N.B. As Bronze expeditions will take place fairly locally, in order to keep costs down, it is expected that parents/carers arrange transport to and from expedition sites.
17 Kit List A full kit list will be provided and it s likely that you will already have some of the clothing/equipment you need. However, the following are essential: Over the ankle walking boots (broken in or you may seriously regret it!!!) 2 pairs walking socks Waterproof/windproof jacket Waterproof over-trousers Comfortable walking trousers Warm hat/sunhat Gloves Sleeping bag Torch or head-torch Plate/bowl/mug Knife/fork/spoon
18 Initial fee is required prior to registration. DofE requires you to take responsibility for your own personal development. Award is on merit-not a guarantee Expectations Participants will not be allowed to go on expedition unless volunteering/physical/skills have been completed and edofe is fully updated and signed off. Attendance of expeditions MUST NOT impact on school attendance.
