7 Conclusion F1. What facilities for the young residents would you like to see improved or provided? Picnic tables, more play equipment, skate park, adventure playground, youth club 12+, netball courts, free tennis courts that is all there is for people my age (14/17), Post Office so as not to buy sweets / stamps. Bike trails, bridle path, youth club, Youth clubs - youngsters early on in evening, older teenagers later. Maybe line entertainment occasionally. Street fighting club, paper shop, down lighting at the courts and football pitch, nature club, playground equipment/area, shop, football pitch improved, village shop, swimming club, football club, BMX park/track, youth club, sports club, video/dvd hire, IT training, skate board park, disco s, singing club/dancing, computer club. Football pitch more sports clubs. Place for kids / teenagers to hang out, place with sporting activities, sports that can be used at once. Football field behind tennis courts, more equipment in park, more activities/tournaments, football ground. Play area for the young, Village Hall for more cups. Better sports facilities (no suitable recreational areas) safer cycling /especially on main road, more activities in playground. Safe meeting areas for children planned organised activities. Indoors sports facilities pool/snooker, small cinema, football, more to do, skate park (X5). Footpath through Crown car park so children can walk to school safely and reduce unnecessary traffic. F2. Finally, please add any suggestions you may have for making the area a better place to live in. Gate to stop people (young children) running on the road, more children and teenagers space, no litter/rubbish/graffiti/dog poo recycling scheme. More weekly activities, clubs e.g. Drama, netball, improved public transport add a stop in up by the bridge bank otherwise have to walk to. Nature area for wildlife, more social activities/clubs to get to know each other, more things to do, youth clubs., & Under 18 Survey 7 of 8

8 Community watches on younger people, more green areas, flowers/trees, roads less bumpy, more sport e.g. Football, make the village smarter, cars only to go at 20mph. Close off school house lane from 8.45/ 9.05 and 3.15/3.40, each school day to stop crazy use of Crown car park and prevent a terrible accident. No parking on pavement in Bagot Street, nature reserve, reduce traffic volume more buses to Burton. Youth club (X2) - properly supervised, better policing let children identify their local policeman. Projects build nature reserve/help elderly, places to go e.g. Café, better public transport so kids can get out of the village, reduce drug use. More modern shops, restaurant, café, chip shop and adults patrolling to prevent bullying. More facilities for teenagers to reduce vandalism of places like park. Reduce litter ensure village keeps it s tradition. Clear bottles, cigarettes from around institute, Churchyard, look after our countryside, protect wildlife, less houses being built and ruining all the fields e.g. One opposite Richard Clark. Make the Main Street more pleasant to look at, scouts hut looks run down from outside, so maybe that and the park could be repainted. Teenagers are bored and need somewhere to get together. Better bus service, chip shop, café, meeting place for young people, more shops with wide range of produce, clothing, CD sets. Keep children from wandering the streets and in the pubs, keep village tidy. Too many alcohol bottles and cigarette packets giving the village a bad reputation, more animals (open farms), cleaner streets / less traffic. Play area near institute is a joke, no young people were consulted on the design, but their designs for a shelter for teenagers was ignored, greater representation on local bodies for young people. No more housing, stop any house development. Involve teenagers in the village to prevent vandalism in the village. Patrol team to pick up litter to make a nicer place. A few more sports facilities for younger people up to 9 years of age, needs to be recognised that there are youths in the village who need appropriate facilities to occupy them in their spare time and something needs to be done about it (I would lend my assistance if need it voluntarily) It is an old village but in some aspects it needs to be updated.
