2 TECHNICAL Objectives: Build on players technical skill development, ball mastery, and comfort on the ball vs pressure. DRIBBLING SKILLS/RUNNING WITH BALL TURNING MOVES ATTACKING MOVES Dribble with all surfaces of foot 1v1 Attacking Dribbling at speed Creative dribbling, be a personality Dribbling to get out of pressure/shielding Continued work on previous moves Change of pace with turn to separate from defender Continued work on 1v1 moves Add more complex 1v1 moves Change of pace to beat defender perfect 2- go- to moves CONTROL AND RECEIVING PASSING SHOOTING Receiving with proper foot Balls on the ground Balls out of the air Clearances JUGGLING Juggling with all body surfaces Progress to combinations of surfaces juggles with both feet All surfaces Focus on passing to proper foot Volleys Control and Accuracy of 5-10 yard 1- touch pass Longer passes Striking ball with different surfaces of the foot Power and placement

ATTACKING TACTICS DEFENDING TACTICS POSSESSION TACTICS 1V1 attacking Creativity and personality Adding 2 nd attacker Attacking with #s at speed Combination play Create triangles Hard work Winning the ball back immediately Pressure, Cover, Balance Closing space Communication Working together SHAPING TACTICS SMALL SIDED GAMES Angles and distance of support Value possession Playing out of the back Changing the point of attack Continue to teach 9v9 shape Focus on spatial awareness Height, Width, Depth Expanding in the attack Getting compact defensively 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, 2v1, 3v1, 3v2 Emphasis on dribbling, passing and receiving, introduce supporting the ball Introduce overloads creating space
4 Balance and agility activities Quick movements with a ball involved Multiple movements at the same time for motor coordination Soccer- like movements with and without the ball to mimic the demands of the game Reaction exercises Lateral speed and agility PHYSICAL Objectives: Improve player s general habits and movement on and off the ball as well as to build Physchomotor function and coordination in player as they move through changes of direction and space. PSYCHOMOTOR COORDINATION MOVEMENT Constant movement of the player (NO STANDING) Movement with the ball Movement off the ball
5 PSYCHOLOGICAL Objectives: Ensure players are trained in a positive and encouraging environment for their optimal growth whilst learning his/her positional roles and responsibilities. FUN CONCENTRATION CO- OPERATION Ensure players are having Fun!!! Make sure players are always engaged Keep exercises moving (Do not spend too long in one exercise) NO LONG LINES!!! Working together even with individual focus HOW TO TRAIN THE COMETS WAY! SPORTSMANSHIP Hard Work/Work Ethic Commitment Being Coachable Great Attitude Take risks Learning how to be positive and to support others Learning how to strive to achieve and balance fun Learning hot to succeed with humility
6 TRAINING FOCUS Objectives: Is is the responsibility of every player to improve their own individual techniques and skills. The importance of training individually should never be underestimated. Repetitive training will undoubtedly benefit the individual. TRAINING CONCEPTS AND TOPICS Dribbling Skills Creativity Attacking Moves/Turning Moves Ball Control- Passing and Receiving Defending- Pressure/Cover/Balance Defending/Immediate Pressure Emphasis on spacial awareness Finishing Players must have a strong technical base in order to begin combining with others. Players will need to have a mastery and comfort on the ball individually to progress in our COMET Player Development Curriculum. REPEAT SKILLS OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!!
