2 Girl Scout cookies will be available for purchase at the Social Club meeting Monday morning. If you ordered cookies, please be sure to pick them up then. ATTENTION: Everyone is invited to stay after the Feb 27th social meeting in the hall to listen to a presentation regarding the Vial of Life given by Lt Rich Stubbs, Public Education Officer, Weslaco Fire Department. He'll begin at approximately 10:00. Please donate your used empty pill bottles. A box is in the hall for your convenience. They should be at least 4" tall. If you have any questions about this donation call Deb Thank you! , if you any questions. QUILTING This week (February 27th) there will not be quilting because of the Special Shareholder Meeting. Next week, March 6th, Andrea O Keefe will wrap up the Mystery Quilt. For those of you participating have your homework done and Andrea will give you the next clue. Will be fun to see what it turns out to be. We set the date for our Challenge Reveal (so get those projects finished we re running out of time) & potluck luncheon for March 20th (please come even if you didn t do the challenge). Remember the challenge make a baby quilt or a lap size quilt using fabric from your stash if you don t have enough in your cupboard check out our cupboard in the Craft Room we have lots of odds & ends that could be made into a quilt these will be donation quilts and we will give them to a needy organization here in Weslaco. We meet every Monday afternoon at 1:00 PM in the Craft Room. JASON WHORLOW THE PIANO MAN March 2, Thursday Jason Whorlow will present his musical show on March 2, Thursday evening at 7:00 P.M. in the Village Hall. He plays an electric baby grand piano. He is an outstanding entertainer with an impressive repertoire playing anything from old country classics to rock and roll and the hottest hits today. His show is fun, with lots of humor and some audience participation. Jason is from Nixa, MO. He started performing in dueling piano bars and local venues around the Ozarks. Since then, Whorlow Entertainment has expanded to take Jason all over the country. He performs in a wide variety of venues - from Winter Texan resorts to weddings, large corporate events to cozy wineries, private events to high energy shows. Tickets are $7.00 each, and are available at the Social Club meetings on Monday mornings. During the week, contact Dick/Gayle at 3026 Sonora ( ). Laughing Bird will present their musical and comedy show on March 5, Sunday evening at 7:00 P.M. in the Village Hall. Tupelo and Janey Kenyon have been performing together since They have traveled from Alaska to South America, from California to the Carolinas, from Europe to Asia, performing at fairs, festivals, universities, resorts, cruise ships and community concerts. Original, refreshing, and captivating is a good description of Laughing Bird s show, but their real magic is the warm, genuine, and unpretentious energy they project from the stage. Sometimes hilarious, sometimes heart-touching, Tupelo and Janey clearly love what they do, and it shows! They each play a wide variety of instruments. The Hut lends items such as crutches, walkers, canes, potty chairs, wheel chairs, and a couple of car seats for children to village residents. You must use a capitol M to connect. *********** SIESTA VILLAGE TERMITES We are a group of wood carvers that meet Friday mornings in the All Purpose Room from 10:00-12:00. Anyone interested in carving or just seeing what we do is more than welcome. Ring your own projects to work on or we can start you off on a small project. We have two excellent instructors to help Dave Hodson and Jim Thalacker. Please come and join us.

8 SPORTS AND GAMES: MEN'S GOLF: WE Had twenty nine golfers. Mark McGurie had closest to the pin on number two, and also had the low round of twenty eight. Dave Greeder had the longest putt on number nine. We have one more week to go for the tournament and remember the banquet on the fourteenth of March. LADIES GOLF: Jim Major A beautiful sunny morning on Tuesday Feb. 21st. for a round of golf. We had 21 ladies out and the game of the day was: closest to the pin on #8 on the second shot. The winners were: Sharon Penner, Peggy Schaefer, Linda Eckert, Maureen Heaman, Pat Wautlet, and Judy Beggs, Birdies were made by Peggy Schaefer and Linda Eckert (2). This was our 3rd week of league tournament. A very nice monthly luncheon was enjoyed by 16 ladies at Chilis Restaurant. Enjoy! Thursdays 7pm and will run Every Thursday until-correction Feb 23, 2017 will be the last mixed pool. Chair for Mixed Pool: Doug & Kathy Bormann BOWLING Dave Greeder was the bowling champ today. He had the high series, the only turkey, won a free game and also won one money pot. Larry won the other free game and money pot, and Jon O won the last money pot. MEN S POOL The men s pool practice will be Mon-Sat from 3pm-5pm PEGS AND JOKERS We will be playing Pegs and Jokers on Tuesday night in the Village Hall. Everyone is welcome to come. Bring a game if you have one. If you do-n't know the game and want to learn please come and we will show you. This year is Siesta Village's turn to host the tournament. It will be held on Match 3 and 4. It is "Any" Doubles" and will have amateur and expert class with a "totally Random Draw". Judy Meaden will give medals for the main and consolation brackets.

10 The entry fee is $5 a couple and includes a lite lunch on March 3. Those who do not participate in the shuffle games may have lunch for $3 after all the shufflers have been served. A signup sheet is posted in the shuffle shack. This has always been an end of the season "fun shuffle" for all participants.
