3 Welcome! Few events can claim what the Australian Hay Mini Nationals can. If you hadn t seen all the hype, this of course is the 50 th running of the iconic event. We as the directing team feel privileged to be a part of this history, and to help it continue for future generations. We have decided to mix things up, and with the terrific help from Magic Door Industries, will be able to put on quite a spectacular show. Competitors in Hay Heroes will be the centre of attention in a stadium feel event. We also have new events like Junior Hay Heroes, so that the kids of regular competitors or newcomers to the event can have a red hot go against their peers. This will all be capped off with a huge country style feed (hot roast lamb rolls) courtesy of our Hay charity Can Assist, and a huge fireworks display. With the extra time and a bumper field of competitors, the Sunday Hay Mini Nationals Motorkhana expands to 7 lanes. This is arguably Australia s most competitive motorkhana and without doubt attracts the top echelon of drivers, all vying for that top spot. We have seen this event won and lost by margins of a few hundredths of a second. But it s not just the top of the table battle that exists in this unique event. There dozens of personal competitions being waged throughout the field. From mate against mate, to those who have their eyes set on the top 10, or the top 20, or even front page of the results, there is a victory out there for everyone to chase. The Show and Shine takes its place once again on Moppett Street in the centre of town following the massive street parade. We ve introduced a new class this year to cater for a growing number of later model Minis, called Modern Mini (1983 to 2000) There are a few changes to times and formalities so make sure to check out the event itinerary to stay on top of it all.
