Standings: GWN has been alone in fourth place in the IL South for the past 63 days they trail Charlotte (38-29) and Durham (39-30) by 5.5 games, and Norfolk (37-31) by 4.0 games. Vs. Pawtucket: The G-Braves are vs. Pawtucket since 2009 (9-16 at Coolray Field). GWN has won two home series vs. the PawSox, 8/14/09-8/17/09 (4-0) and 5/1/10-5/4/10 (3-1). Three or Less: Including Wednesday s 3-1 win at Louisville, the G-Braves have allowed three runs or less in 26 of their 32 wins this season seven of those wins are shutouts. Folty s Return Spoiled by Peguero, PawSox: In his first start with Gwinnett since 4/26, RHP Mike Foltynewicz (L, 0-4) yielded seven runs over 6.0 IP in the G-Braves 7-5 loss to the Pawtucket Red Sox last night at Current Homestand (0-1) Coolray Field. Foltynewicz surrendered a pair of home runs to Carlos Peguero, a two-run shot to right field in the first inning and a grand slam to center field in the third inning. Peguero s second blast capped a six-rbi performance and highlighted a three-run fifth inning for Pawtucket. The G-Braves tied the game at 2-2 in the second inning thanks to a solo homer from Christian DATE 6/19 vs. PAW 6/20 vs. PAW 6/21 vs. PAW 6/22 vs. IND 6/23 vs. IND RESULT L, 5-7 Bethancourt (2-for-5, 2B, HR, 2 R, RBI) and an RBI single from 6/24 vs. IND Eric Young, Jr. (2-for-5, R, RBI), but couldn t overcome the 6/25 vs. IND PawSox third inning barrage. BethanCLOUT: On the first pitch he saw at Coolray Field this season, C Christian Bethancourt blasted a solo home run off LHP Brian Johnson in the second inning last night. It s his second HR in 2015, first since a ninth-inning walk-off solo shot for Atlanta off Pittsburgh RHP Vance Worley on 6/6. Career Clouts: Last night s homer was the 35 th of his MiLB career, ninth with the G-Braves. Hot Start: Bethancourt has posted three straight multi-hit games since being optioned to Gwinnett by Atlanta on 6/15, batting.467 (7-for-15, 2B, HR, 2 R, 2 RBI) in that span. More on Folty: In his first start with Gwinnett since being optioned by Atlanta on 6/17, RHP Mike Foltynewicz allowed a season-high seven runs over 6.0 IP (7 H, 7 ER, 2 HR, 4 BB, 5 SO, 108 pitches/67 strikes) in the loss to Pawtucket. It s his most runs/earned runs in an outing since yielding eight on 7/21/14 with Triple-A Oklahoma City vs. Round Rock (loss, 4.0 IP, 9 H, 8 ER, 3 BB, 3 SO). With Gwinnett: Foltynewicz is now 0-4 with a 3.90 ERA (12 ER in 27.2 IP) in five starts with the G-Braves. He posted a 2.08 ERA (5 ER in 21.2 IP) over his first four starts from 4/9-4/26.
