Standings: Gwinnett has been alone in third place in the IL South for the past five days they trail Norfolk (61-43) by 8.0 games, Charlotte (59-48) by 4.5 games and lead Durham (52-53) by 1.5 games. GWN is also fifth in the IL Wild Card race, trailing Columbus (59-48) by 5.0 games. Two Up Through 104: Gwinnett is (.510) through 104 games, marking the first time the club has had a winning record at the 104-game mark since the 2011 season (57-47,.548). At Durham: The G-Braves are 3-3 at DBAP in 2015 the club will have to go 3-2 over their last five games at Durham to win the season road series vs. the Bulls for the first time since 2011 (6-5). Three or Less: Gwinnett has allowed three runs or less in 42 of their 53 wins this season, including three runs nine times, two runs seven times, one run 15 times and no runs 11 times. Last Action: Prior to yesterday s scheduled off-day, the G-Braves lost 5-3 to the Durham Bulls in the finale of a three-game series on Wednesday night at Coolray Field. The bullpen trio of RHP Ryan Weber, RHP Vin Mazzaro and RHP Ryan Kelly combined to allow a run over the final 5.1 innings, keeping the G-Braves in the game. Christian Bethancourt (2-for-4, R, RBI) and Todd Cunningham (1-for-4, 3B, RBI) both drove in runs to cut the deficit to 5-3 in the eighth, but RHP Jhan Marinez (H, 12) and RHP Kirby Yates (S, 5) combined on 1.1 scoreless innings to finish the win for Durham. Rotation Domination: Even with Wednesday s loss by RHP Sugar Ray Marimon (3.2 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 4 SO, 81 pitches/47 strikes), G-Braves starting pitchers are still an impressive 3-1 with a 1.78 ERA (6 ER in 30.1 IP) and a.215 BAA (23-for-107, 1 HR) in the last six games (team is 5-1). Scoreless Streak Ends: Marimon s run allowed with one out in the second inning on Wednesday snapped a 23.1-inning scoreless streak for G-Braves starters dating back to the second inning on 7/25 vs. Charlotte. RHP Kanekoa Texeira (4.1 IP), RHP Williams Perez (5.2 IP), RHP Tyrell Jenkins (8.0 IP), LHP Greg Smith (4.0 IP) and Marimon (1.1 IP) all contributed to the streak. BethanCLOUT: C Christian Bethancourt enters play riding a three-game multi-hit streak, tied for the longest by a G-Brave this season (8x, last: Mallex Smith, 7/2-7/3). He s batting.615 (8-for-13, 5 2B, 4 R, 2 RBI) on the streak, raising his average from.273 to.309. Terdo Reaches Nine: 1B/OF Joey Terdoslavich went 1-for-4 with an RBI (#10) on Wednesday, extending his hitting streak with Gwinnett to a season-best nine games. A Cunning Display: OF Todd Cunningham is in the midst of a four-game RBI streak (6 RBI total, #18-23), tied for the longest by a G-Brave this season alongside INF Barrett Kleinknecht (6 RBI in 4G from 5/1-5/5) and 3B Adonis Garcia (8 RBI in 4G from 6/17-6/21).
