Conner Menez (2-0, 2.63) is slated to start on the mound for the Giants tonight. Home Woes Following last night s series-opening defeat to Rancho Cucamonga, the Giants have now lost eight out of their last ten home games. San Jose s 5-9 mark at Municipal Stadium this season is the worst home record in the league. Major League Opponent Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Rich Hill is scheduled to make a rehab start against the Giants in tonight s game. Rancho Cucamonga scored six runs in the top of the third inning to break the game open and never looked back en route to the series-opening win. Mitchell White (4 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 8 SO), Parker Curry (3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 6 SO) and Tony Gonsolin (2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 SO) combined to record 15 strikeouts in the convincing Quakes victory. 21 out of the final 22 San Jose batters in the contest were retired. Gio Brusa s second-inning single was the only Giants hit in the game. San Jose starter Jake McCasland suffered the loss after allowing a career-high seven runs (1 ER) in 2 2/3 innings. Denard Span Rehab San Francisco Giants outfielder Denard Span is scheduled to continue his rehabilitation assignment with San Jose tonight. Span is recovering from a sprained right shoulder that he sustained when colliding with the fence at Colorado on April 22. Span is batting.200 (10-for-50) with four doubles and two RBI s in 14 games for San Francisco this season. The 33-year old owns a career batting average of.283 with 1,259 hits, 48 home runs and 164 stolen bases over 10 major league seasons (Minnesota , Washington , San Francisco ). Span played five innings in center field last night in his first rehab game and went 0-for-2 with a walk at the plate. Aramis Garcia Aramis Garcia has two home runs and six RBI s over his last three games. The former second round draft pick and #9 prospect (Baseball America) in the San Francisco organization leads the Giants in batting average (.333), home runs (6) and RBI s (22) over just 16 games this season. Garcia was activated from the disabled list on May 3 after missing 12 games due to a concussion sustained on April 20. He is tied for second in the California League in home runs.
