8 UHS Girls Lacrosse Clinic on 11/7 On Wednesday November 7th the PIAA State Championship team will be hosting a girls' lacrosse clinic from 11am-12:30pm. What a great way to spend the day off from school. Players will be challenged by the best lacrosse players in the State! 9 Famous Director Dan Lipowitz brings The Curious Savage to the UHS Stage! The Curious Savage is the story of an elderly widow named Mrs. Savage, whose husband has left her $10 million dollars. She intends to give the entire fortune away to people who wish to pursue their foolish dreams, but her stepchildren strongly object. To prevent her from doing away with their family s wealth and ruining their legacy, they have her committed to a sanatorium called The Cloisters, and it is among the gentle residents there that she finds her true family. The Curious Savage is a warm comedy that compares the kindness and loyalty of psychiatric patients with the greed and hostility of so-called normal people. 12 This year Patton Middle School will be offering a parent book club using the book The Gift of Failure by Jessica Lahey. The book club is designed to be a casual opportunity to engage as parents in a judgement free zone. Laboure Rafferty, Patton s school librarian/media specialist, will facilitate the meetings. Please consider this opportunity to hear others thoughts on parenting in the 21st century. No one has all of the answers, but together we can share thoughts, ideas, and opinions about our most important responsibility.
