2 General Information Effingham Park District Mission Park Board Meetings The Effingham Park District is dedicated to providing recreational programs, activities and facilities that enrich the individual, strengthen families and benefit the community. The Effingham Park District board meetings are held on the 1st of every month at the Effingham Park District Administrative office. Meetings begin at 6:30 pm and the public is invited to attend. Policy on Non-Resident Fees Any child who does not reside within Effingham Park District boundaries must pay a $32.00 fee over and above normal program fees for each core program in which the child participates. Recording Secretary...Carole McDevitt Photograph Policy Park District staff may photograph or videotape participants in Park District programs, classes or at park facilities/events. The photos may be used in publications and/or social media. Individuals will not be identified. If you do not wish to have your picture taken, please inform the photographer. Batting Cages The Devon Poland Wear Scholarship Fund All prospective participants with financial needs are eligible to apply for individual assistance, but we cannot guarantee that every request will be honored. Scholarships are based on the reduced/free lunch program in the public school system. Scholarships are limited to first come, first serve. Providing false or incomplete information on the application will result in disqualification. Scholarship forms must be completed in full and returned with the completed program registration form and the Status Notification Letter from the school verifying that you do receive free/reduced lunch. Batting cages are available to reserve at the Ron Diehl Center. They should be reserved and paid for ahead of time. Call the park district office at Room Rental The Effingham Park District has rooms available for rent for a nominal fee on a limited basis. Ball diamonds may be reserved if they are not scheduled with recreation programs.

June 8 - July 20 (s Only) 9:30-11 am 3 year olds one-time fee Hendelmeyer Park : We meet every Tuesday and Thursday morning to play games, paint, color and meet new friends. June 7 - July 21 (Tuesdays & Thursdays) 9:30-11 am 4-5 year olds $15 one-time fee Hendelmeyer Park *Participants are required to wear an Orange shirt to playground. Orange shirts will be available to purchase on-site if needed. Kluthe Pool Information Park This playground has the advantage of having the woods just across the bridge. When not exploring nature, the children may be doing crafts or playing hide and seek. Nature scavenger hunts and playing games are just a few of the fun activities at. Some of our morning adventures include bowling, a trip to the movie theater or a fun day at the new Workman Sports Complex! es Join us each week as we make fun summer crafts. From tie dye shirts to personalized candles, we'll have it all! Tuesdays 3-4 pm /Class Come learn how to make your favorite recipes while expanding your taste buds! We love trying new things in the kitchen! Thursdays 3-4 pm /Class Ages 8-11 This is the perfect class for 3-5 year olds to meet new friends and interact with their peers. We will have new themes each week and make crafts, sing songs, read books & have fun! Mondays am /Class Ages 3-5

We will be learning how to dribble, pass, shoot, play defense and of course, have fun! Each day we will have plenty of time to play a real basketball game. Theater Camp Capture the Flag Theater Camp Capture the Flag Friday Workman Sports Complex Theater Camp A perfect opportunity for young actors to express themselves in a fun atmosphere. The week will feature several plays and skits that each child will be able to participate in. Thursday will feature a performance with several different plays by the children. Specifically designed for children aged 2 to 5 years old and using the fun of play and imaginative stories, Little Sparks facilitates a child's physical, m en ta l, so c i a l a n d em o t i o n a l development through the game of soccer! Little Sparks uses three key principles (1. Experiential Play 2. Creative Learning 3. The Effingham Park District continually strives to reduce such risks and insists that all participants follow safety rules and instructions that are designed to protect the participants safety. However, participants and parents/ guardians of minors registering for this program/activity must recognize that there is an inherent risk of injury when choosing to participate in recreational activities. You are solely responsible for determining if you or your minor child/ward are physically fit and/or skilled for the activities contemplated by this agreement. It is always advisable, especially if the participant is pregnant, disabled in any way or recently suffered an illness, injury or impairment, to consult a physician before undertaking any physical activity. WARNING OF RISK Despite careful and proper preparation, instruction, medical advice, conditioning and equipment, there is still a risk of serious injury when participating in any recreational activity/program. Understandably, not all hazards and dangers can be foreseen. Participants must understand certain risks, dangers and injuries due to acts of God, inclement weather, slipping, falling, equipment failure, failure in supervision, premises defects and all other circumstances inherent to recreational activities/programs exist. In this regard, it must be recognized that it is impossible for the Effingham Park District to guarantee absolute safety. WAIVER AND RELEASE OF ALL CLAIMS AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK Please read this form carefully and be aware that in signing up and participating in this program/activity, you will be expressly assuming the risk and legal liability and waiving and releasing all claims for injuries, damages or loss which you or your minor child/ward might sustain as a result of participating in any and all activities connected with and associated with this program/activity (including transportation services, when provided). I recognize and acknowledge that there are certain risks of physical injury to participants in this program/activity, and I voluntarily agree to assume the full risk of any and all injuries, damages or loss, regardless of severity, that my minor child/ward or I may sustain as a result of said participation. 16 Flag Football Players will learn fundamental skills such as passing, catching, running, blocking and defense; which will enable them to use those skills during the season. This non-contact league will help boys and girls in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grades learn the game of football.
