13 Meet Christie! I am excited to introduce to you my new Executive Assistant, Christie Kelley-Ellis. This week was Christie s 3rd week & she is loving her job so far. You call me or Christie anytime between 8 am 4 pm EST. We are here to help you! WOW! The Following directors had 8 Parties in October. I asked them, how did you do it? Here is what they said: Executive Director Deana Bottomley Most of my October parties were parties that had been booked from previous parties, and all but two were previous hostesses. Building and keeping the relationship with my hostesses throughout the year, I know when they want to host again. I followed up with them to schedule a date that worked for them and me. I want my parties to be fun for everyone. When the hostess and guests are having fun, the hostess wants to host again and guests want to also get the hostess rewards. To get bookings at parties I do "Unwrap the Gift" that Lois Borkholder has shared on the Dream Big calls. I also use the hostess cards with my hostess coaching. I really like using them and helping my hostesses get as much as possible for free. Senior Executive Director Angela Durham It is my goal to have 6-8 parties a month and to get at least 1 (preferably 2-3) booking at each of those parties. Making your parties FUN is essential. Women don't like to invite their family and friends into their homes for a party if the consultant is boring. Being friendly, offering solutions to help make their lives run more smoothly and really listening to what they have to say are all ingredients for a successful party with future bookings. The Hostess Exclusives help too! I am working on better (and more often) communication with my hostesses leading up to her party. I remind her to get RSVPs and that guests means she'll easily cross off items on her wish list. I encourage her to send text, or phone call reminders. And of course, if someone can't come, I instruct her to get their order ahead of time. You have to remember, she is your partner. It takes both of you to have a successful party. And if you can get her on board with how wonderful our products are and help you to get parties booked, you'll find more and more success. You can't be afraid to offer the hostessing opportunity. Think of what you have as a gift that needs to be shared. You have to whole-heartedly believe that what you have can solve their needs, even needs they didn't know they had. Make your parties interactive. Get the guests involved in modeling the product. They don't want to sit there and listen to you go on and on about this product and that product. You have to SHOW them the value! Executive Director, Kelley Thornburg October was a great month for me! I had $4,307 in PV. So I am really excited to be on track for the Leadership Incentive trip! To get my sales up I did my own little booking blitz and filled my calendar. Then I got into various vendor events to work new contacts. I am very self driven because I am the only source of income. So being a single mom and knowing this is your full time job is such a blessing but I have to stay focused on keeping my parties on the calendar. Plus I am very motivated by the leadership trip so if you saw my office, there are dream boards and trackers for this trip everywhere. Whatever your goal is...keep it in front of you! That will drive you daily to work your business consistently and not every other month.

14 Holiday Cut-Off What does holiday cut-off mean? The dates below represent the last day that you can submit an order and expect it to arrive before Christmas. Plan your party calendar for November/Early December with these dates in mind. Submit parties by: December 1 delivery to military base housing in the United States. December 10 for delivery to the United States, Canada and all U.S. territories (Guam, Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands). Tis' the season for customers to go crazy buying up all of our most popular items! Backorders and Stop Sell items don't have to be a pain in your Holiday Season! Here are a few tips to make your Holiday partying easy and stress free! -Print a copy of the business update before each party -Close parties as soon as possible and let the hostess know ahead of time that she needs to try to close her party soon so that she can be sure her people get all their items since it is the holiday season we sometimes do run out! -When entering a party when you come across an issue, BEFORE you call the customer look through the catalog and find some suggestions that are similar and would work the same way (i.e. Super OUT for the OUT, Black Happy Dot for Black Parisian Pop etc) -When dealing with an upset customer, let her know that you understand her frustration and that our backorders/stop sells are just like retail stores. Sometimes they simply run out of more popular items! Reassure her that she has great taste because she picked something that so many others liked and then give her other popular suggestions that are available. At the end of the day, remember, we are simply selling great products! No need to panic when one isn't available. As long as you take great care of your customer, even if she decides not to replace the item, she will remember your great service next time she needs something! Customers are very reasonable as long as you communicate clearly and help them solve their holiday buying problem! Happy Holidays!

17 Consultant Spotlight Kelley Thornburg Executive Director Joined February 2010 Career Sales $89,000 Career Recruits 48 I am Kelley Thornburg and I have 2 wonderful children Drew (8) and Kayla (4). I am from Greeneville, TN. It is a fairly small town with only 2 major restaurants, Fatz and Applebees! The next big town on the map would be Johnson City, TN which is about 45 minutes away. I have to say that with having the kids my favorite Thirty-One product is the new retro metro crossbody. I love that purse for the hands free ability! I pair it with the timeless wristlet, key fob, and then a mini zipper as my make-up bag on the go. That way I have a core plus 2 so whenever anyone asks me what I do I have products I can show. What I love most about Thirty-One is all the friends I have made. I couldn t imagine my life without these wonderful women that have helped me professionally from my hostess, customers, and fellow consultants to the love and support I have received personally. I began this business as a stay at home mom 2.5 years ago but with consistently working my business I have been able to replace my full time income at my previous job. By being able to set my own hours it gives me the flexibility to do what I enjoy outside of family and Thirty-One and that s being a cheerleading coach and helping at my son s school. I coach the varsity cheer team and I m president of the booster club. My best advice for a brand new consultant is to work your business consistently! You constantly want to carry your products because that will spark conversations for you to book parties on a consistent basis. If you only want to do 1 party a week, then book 1 party a week. Just set your goal and stay consistent. To get off to the best start though, you have to study TOT. Even now to keep my team informed I have to read TOT. As a new consultant I went through and watched videos and listened to 31 minute calls. The more knowledge you have the more successful you will be. You don t have to recreate the wheel. It s all on TOT, just go get it! To keep your calendar full, utilize what Thirty-one has given you. I always talk about how everyone at the party has the ability to give the hostess a free gift. All they have to do is schedule their own girls night and she gets to pick one of the booking bonuses. If you don t have them to show then open the catalog to that page, then follow up with hostess stacking to show what all is in it for them, and then close with individual closing so you can discuss picking a date. The one thing I wish I would have know when I first started is how to get organized and a system in place for keeping party orders and information at easy access. Jenny posted a picture of her filing cabinet one day and the light bulb went off. Why did I not think of that? That has been a huge help! It s easier to get the systems in place as a new consultant.
