2 Finals 17/08/2011 The annual Church Fair on the Saturday and he Soccer Service at All Saints Parish Church, Hunters Hill on Fathers Day is the annual event when the club reaffirms its connection with All Saints having begun it s proud traditions over 40 years ago playing in a church based competition against other teams in the Gladesville, Balmain & Five Dock area. U11G Premiers and winners of the Jim Collins Shield 2011 Isabella Bath, Amy Clarke, Rachel Dodds Sophie Gregory, Charlotte Guest, Abigail Gunning, Lili Hastie, Isabelle Ingham, Eve Madden, Olivia Redwin, Amy Sayer, Heather Service, Georgie Smith, Madi Ueland. Nick Ingham Coach Lynn McNally Manager On Saturday in glorious spring sunshine we manned the Bottle Tombola stall which came together wonderfully. Thank you to all those who donated so generously to the stall. We raised approximately $400 for the church and are grateful to all those who either donated, helped out or purchased tickets on the day. On Sunday morning (yes we know it was Fathers Day and the church service celebrates that too!) a small number of club members made it to church to see the historic presentation of The Jim Collins Shield to the most successful team in our club this year. It is the first time in the history of the club that the shield has been won by an All Girls team and we would like to congratulate the U11Girls on their success this season. Amy Clarke, Isabelle Ingham and Georgie Smith were their with Nick Ingham (Coach) and Lynn McNally (Manager) to receive the shield and their medals. Thank you girls (& Dads) for attending and we would like to share with you the prayer from that service. 3 Non Competitive Player of the Week U7 Blue ASH VS Gladesville Sharks Yellow Player of the Week : Laura McGirr for playing hero soccer! She played like a professional with all instincts blazing and finished off with two solid goals for the team. U7 ASH VS Saints Red Orange U8 ASH VS Gladesville Sharks Last game of the season was a tough one but all the girls played very well. Lots of smiles and fun. U9 ASH VS Ravens Player of the Week: The WHOLE team won player of the week! Best game of the season. U7 Blue Team Summary : A very big thank you to Caroline, Kiah, Laura, Liv, Mercia and Nikita for being such good sports and for making every Sunday morning a pleasure to be outdoors. You have each grown through the season and are leaving this season with a solid foundation of soccer skills and spirit. Imagine what you can do in years to come! Asa and I are delighted that each of you have affirmed your enjoyment of the game by wanting to come back for another season as a team in A very big thank you from all the girls and parents to Asa, our coach for the tireless weeks of training, coaching and refereeing the games the fact that the girls are wanting to be back next season should make you feel proud. Finally, I would also like to thank the parents who have supported the team this season by driving the girls to training and games, bringing oranges and lollies, working the BBQ, pitching in during training and games and for making the atmosphere in the sidelines exciting. 4 U7 Blue (in orange) vs U7 orange (in yellow) Team : U7G Orange The Under 7 Orange girls finished their season in style on Sunday. Coach Kate had them peaking at the pointy end of the season and they all had their best game ever! Could it have been the promise of the end season party after the game? Or just the carnival atmosphere of finals day? Either way, it was a wonderful end to a fabulous season. Our 2011 football rookies, Sienna, Marianna, Lauren and Maddie were well supported all year by our experienced players, Evie and Gemma who came to the team with an entire season under their belts. Each girl developed their skills and confidence throughout the year, and despite playing in a non-competitive league, the competitive spirit was alive and well along with good sportsmanship..the odd cartwheel.a little hugging.a few dance moves.and some excellent goal scoring of course! Our lovely coach Kate performed wonders with the girls. She gave them strong foundation skills and most importantly ensured that there were smiles at the end of every training and every game. Thanks Kate for volunteering so much of your time, energy and patience to coach the girls this season. Thanks also to the parents for your support, help, humour and good company on the sideline throughout the season. I hope all the girls are looking forward to next year. They might be moving up to the action packed world of U8s with a bigger field and a goalie, or consolidating and developing even further as the experienced players with another year in U7s. Either way all the girls will be able to take what they have achieved this year, and build on it in Thanks for being such a great team. 5 U8 The Cartwheeling girls The girls have had a great season renewing old friendships as well as forming new ones. What started as a game of discussion about hair, parties with intermittent handstands and cartwheels, quickly became a focused team understanding positional play including Strikers, Midfielders, Backs and great defensive Goalkeeping. Also we managed to curtail the cartwheels to only when goals were scored. The support the girls have continued to show to the game and to each other is commendable and it is the girls who constantly remind the rest of us that they really are playing this game because they enjoy it and are having fun. The last game of the season was no different. The girls made a dash on to the field through streamers and balloons, tried very hard all game and then excitedly received their NWSWF Grandfinal day trophies. Thank you to U8 girls, Charlotte, Sophie, Gracie, Mimi, Izzie, Olivia, Sara, Emma, Hannah, Lily and Annabel. A big thank you to Lisa Trapnell, Sue Gollan and Mike Fahey for looking after them each week. O35 Ladies wrap up Thunderbirds It has been a shorter than normal season this year with bye s and washed out games but definitely still an enjoyable one. Unfortunately, Thunderbirds were awarded the wooden spoon again this year but we will enter next years season with great hopes of getting off the bottom of the ladder. Thank you to Brett and Mick for coaching us again this year. The zone made all the difference. Black ASHH Black had a good season, great coach, we all learnt new skills and tried new formations and positions. As a team we are a lot stronger and more confident than our first season last year. In the comp, we narrowly lost the challenge for the wooden spoon, and then for the pennant. But we are all fit and dangerous and ready to chase that round ball around the park again next season...di Dennis (Manager)
