3 PWHS CHARACTER COUNTS BOYS SWIMMING & DIVE by Brittany Roecker ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Jan 17, Last night we had a meet against Whitefish Bay. Jacob Peacy Jacob Peacy is having an excellent freshman season! He has been seeing varsity action at 195 and 220 throughout the season. He has a 14-9 record which is very good for a freshman and is always competing against upperclassmen. Jacob is relentless in practice and that strong work ethic carries over to the classroom. He is also an outstanding student, earning high honors in his first quarter of high school! Jacob is usually the first wrestler to arrive for 6am morning workouts and the last to leave, often staying late to help with the Jr. Piranhas Club. Please join me in congratulating Jacob on being this week s Character Counts Athlete of the Week! Congratulations Jacob! The meet started with Neil Tumey, Chase Orvis, Alex Sharbuno, and Wyatt Roller taking 3rd place in the 200 Medley relay. Mavrick Roller took 2nd in the 200 Free with a time of 2:19.78, Neil Tumey took 3rd in the 200 IM with a 2:31.91, Shane McCohnany took 3rd in the 50 Free with a time of Wyatt Roller took 2nd in the 500 Free with a best time of 5:52.37, Nick Hadacek, Mavrick Roller, Shane McCohnany, and Wyatt Roller took 3rd in the 200 Free Relay with a time of 1: Neil Tumey took 2nd in the 100 back with a best time of 1: Alex Sharbuno took 3rd with a time of 1: Chase Orvis took 2nd in the 100 Breast with a time of 1:14.48, and Peter Meier took 4th with a 1: Connor Patterson took 2nd in the JV 50 Free with a time of and Garrett Patterson took 1st in the JV 100 Free with a 1: JV Diving Dagan Daniels took 1st with , Austin Rinke 2nd with points, and Mason Deheck 3rd with points. 4 Boys Varsity Basketball by Brian Hebein Girls Varsity Basketball by Jakob Wahl Jan 19, 2019 Score PIRATES: 71 GREEN BAY EAST: 77 The girls basketball team will host Whitefish Bay on Friday night. Games begin at 5:45pm. Come out and cheer them on! The Pirates hosted Green Bay East Saturday night to conclude a stretch of 3 games in 4 days. A sluggish first half did in the Pirates as the fell by the score of Senior Guard Adam Baierl had a season high 27 points. 2 other other joined him in double digits, Senior Forward Jake Lippe had a season high 16 points and Junior Guard Tamai McCoy- Jackson had 12 points. 4 P age

5 Girls Varsity Dance by Rebekah Goerl Girls Varsity Gymnastics by Gale Sigler The PWHS Varsity Dance Team is working hard and prepping for the WACPC Eastern Regional Dance Competition on Saturday, January 26th. If they place in the top 6 for D3 Pom and Top 5 for D2 Jazz they will earn a spot at the WACPC State Dance Championship. Good luck, ladies! 6 Boys Varsity Hockey by Buster Hebda Boys Varsity Wrestling by Angelo LaRosa No information provided. The wrestling team will host Grafton on Thursday night in a conference dual! Come cheer the boys on and celebrate the graduating seniors! The West Bend Co-op Ski Team made up of athletes that attend Port Washington, West Bend North and South, Sheboygan North, Living Word, and Saint Mary Springs, have had three very exciting races so far this race season. West Bend s Varsity Co-op Girls Team took a 1st place against, Homestead, Muskego, Slinger, University Lake, Brookfield Academy, Trinity Lutheran, and Lake Country. Madelyn Wehner earned an overall 2nd place. The girls' second race they took an overall 2nd place against DSHA, Mukwonago, and Wauwatosa. Madelyn Wehner earned an overall 2nd place. The girls third race they took an overall 1st place against Menominee Falls, Cedarburg, and Oconomowoc. Madelyn Wehner earned an overall 1st place. West Bend s Varsity Coop Boys Team took an overall second place against, Homestead, Muskego High School, Slinger, University Lake, Brookfield Academy, Trinity Lutheran, and Lake Country. The boys' second race they took an overall 3rd place against Marquette, Mukwonago, and Wauwatosa. The boys third race they took an overall 3rd place against Menomonee Falls, Cedarburg, and Oconomowoc. Isaac Bensen earned an overall 2nd place. Congratulations to our Port students. 6 P age

7 The PWHS Varsity Dance Team kicked off their co mpetition season at The Little Chute Hol ie on December 10th. They placed 4th place in d ivision 3 Po m against some of the best teams in the state of Wisconsin. A big cong rats is in order for the following dancers and their outstanding finishes within thei r divisions.
