Jeremy Morton received the Ontario Medal of Bravery by the Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, for his selfless actions at a house fire on January 1. Most Recent OPC Graduates The Safe Streets Save Lives Award is given to an officer who has demonstrated a strong commitment to combating and eliminating impaired driving within the City of Brantford. Sponsored by the Brant-Brantford Impaired Driving Advisory Committee, this year s award was presented to Cst. Shannon Parks, during a special ceremony on November 14. Cadets Brodie Batson, Christopher Archi, Brandon Maracle, Victoria Logan and David Porebski posed with Chief Geoff Nelson, Deputy Chief Rob Dinner, Insp. Steve Sumsion and Sgt. Randy Batson, on November 30, at OPC.

2 Say Hello to Some of Our Newest Members... Born and raised in Brantford, Kyle has lived here all his life. A graduate of Mohawk College, he has a three-year Applied Arts diploma as a Production Co-ordinator. He worked in print media for 25 years 21 with the Expositor as a camera operator, ad setter, page layout person and production manager. After major downsizing occurred in the industry, he moved to being a page layout person for Postmedia News. Kyle and his wife, Anita (married for 20 years) have two teenaged sons. In his spare time, he likes to participate as a beginner novice in the ongoing learning of Karate. He has done some background acting in a couple of television shows, and had a small role in a movie. Laura Bedini (Part-time Records) Laura grew up in Cayuga and attended Sheridan College in Oakville. Prior to joining us at the BPS, she was a travel agent with tripcentral.ca (says it was pretty nice being paid to travel!) and has worked at Kelsey s for the past few years. Laura currently lives in Hamilton with her amazing, BUSY two-year old daughter, Brianne. Although she still likes to travel as much as she can, it s mostly day trips now, as most of her time is spent with Brianne and her nephew. Kaitlyn Hall-Kuch (Front Desk Reception) Kaitlyn moved to Brantford when she was in high school, attending North Park Collegiate. She graduated from Laurier Brantford with an Honours degree in Criminology and minors in Psychology and Human Rights. Prior to joining us at the BPS, she worked for Hamilton PS, in their Records Section. Kaitlyn and her boyfriend, Sam, just bought a house in Brantford. She has two cats, Eddie and Alex (Van Halen), and she recently started volunteering with Citizens on Patrol. In her spare time, she loves watching soccer, and she s teaching herself to play bass guitar. Kyle Butler (Part-time Maintenance) 2
