Please be mindful about making your payments for the correct amount: $85 per month for one class per week $125 per month for two or more classes per week BOOST FROM THE BOOSTER CLUB A very Happy New Year to all of our dance families! The Booster Club is happy to fill up your 2019 calendar! See some of our events below all benefiting our Grant Fund as we provide grants to our dancers traveling to Worlds: The Spaghetti Dinner is January 27 th from 3pm- 6pm at the AOH in Redford. The pasta meals are $10 for adults and $5 for kids 6 and under. There will be Irish music and dancing provided by our World Qualifiers. More info on the flyer attached. Trivia Night is January 12th, also at the AOH. There is more information elsewhere in the newsletter including a sign-up sheet. This adult - only event sells out, so please register early! The Spring Fundraiser is on March 2nd. It is an elegant evening in St. Clair Shores that starts with a delicious dinner and is followed by dancing and music. There will be team dancing and solos by our World Qualifiers as well as our GP Dancers. Dinner/Show will be $45 and Show-Only will be $20; $15 for kids. Stay tuned to our FB page for online ticket purchase and dinner selection. This is a night not to miss!! Finally, the booster club is in need of wicker baskets for our fundraising events. If you have any that you would like to donate, please bring them into class and send them to the school office with your teacher. 2 ANNUAL WINTER TRIVIA NIGHT FUDRAISER It's time to raise some money for our World Qualifiers! Join us on Saturday, January 12 for our 3rd annual Winter Trivia Night! There are plenty of tables available right now but we limit this event to 25 tables, so don't wait too long! Seats are $12 each or $80 for a table of 8, and you don't need to have a whole table to sign up. Guaranteed to be a good time just ask anyone who's been to one! Mar 2 - Spring Fundraiser at Blossom Heath May 18 - Tentative Recital Date WORLDS PRACTICE Worlds practice will be held at the Taylor Studio starting January 18, Practice will be held on both Fridays and Saturdays in preparation for the new competition format at this upcoming worlds. Friday classes will be held from 7 9pm and Saturday will be held from 10 11:30 am. If you have any questions, please contact the office. Class will be $350 per dancer attending. If you have any questions please contact the office. LAUREN EARLY SUMMER WORKSHOP The Lauren Early workshop will be July 21-25, 2019 at the Taylor Studio. She will be teaching new steps. This will be the only summer workshop next year. The cost will be approximately $375 per dancer depending on the cost of her flight and hotel. Please be sure to put these dates on your calendar. BEAT IRISH DANCE MUSIC APP There is a new Irish Dance App created by musicians Kevin Murphy & William Paterson called Beat! Beat is a subscription based app which provides users with Irish Dance music which has been designed to suit all dancing organizations. The music library contains music for Grades, Championships, Set Dances and Ceili Dances. You can download the app from the Play Store and/or App Store KITTY S CEILI SCHEDULE Dancers interested in attending Kitty s Ceili can find the schedule attached at the bottom of the newsletter! ACADEMY FEIS The Academy Feis is right around the corner January 20, 2019 and we strongly encourage everyone to sign-up! You can register at - or find more info on the feis at or While we will not have a school bus traveling to the event we still strongly encourage everyone to attend this feis! Also there is an opportunity to win a FREE custom made solo dress: ID Costumes by Daithi Fisher and Ian McLeod!!! Tickets can be purchased during online registration at $10/ticket. The draw will be done onstage at the feis. MAPLE CITY FEIS Another back-to-back feiseanna we would urge everyone to register for is the upcoming Maple City Feis on Saturday March 30 th and the Cornell Championships and Grade Feis on Sunday March 31 st.
