TICKETS WILL GO ON SALE SUNDAY APRIL 24, at 10:00 am. at Tickets will also be sold, in person, at the Algonquin Commons Theatre Box Office, open Monday to Friday from 3:00pm-7:00pm, For more information on the Box Office, customers can visit the website Tickets will be $ $22 plus a $1.50 theatre charge. Cash, Debit and credit cards are acceptable payment at Algonquin Box Office. Tickets purchased online will have an additional $3 charge/per ticket.

6 PHOTO DAY-Sunday May 1, 2016 at Pique Dance Studio We would request that dancers attend the group photos as we proudly display them, at the studio each year, and the dancers love to see themselves on our wall of fame. Photo day for group and individual photos, is Sunday May 1. s for group/individual photos are listed on the Photo/ Document. This year we are using a new photographer, Digital Dance Pictures, and are excited to offer online viewing and photo ordering. Parents will be able to view and order/download their photos online. They will receive an envelope with their individual website address (or addresses if in multiple classes) at the completion of the photo shoot. Photos will be posted 2-3 days after the shoot. Three different packages will be offerred: Pacakge #1 - Digital Download - 2 images Package #2 - Two - 5 x 7's Package #3 - Two - 8 x 10's The Digital Download package is the best value, as you can save the images to your computer, and then or take the images to a Costco or Walmart lab and print as many copies of any photo, in any size, as you need. The print packages (#2 & #3) get processed at a lab, and then the photos are mailed directly from the lab to the customer. An additional delivery fee applies. Please note the following information regarding Picture Day on Sunday May 1st: Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled start time. Studio will open at 8:45. All hair, make-up & accessories/tights are required as for the recital. (Great Practice) Please arrive with hair & make-up done, ready to go. jewelry of any kind (other than what is required for recital). nail polish, hands free of stamps, tattoos, marker, etc. Stickers removed from dance shoes. Please ensure that your child is changing quickly for their next picture time, as it is very important we stay on schedule. (which will be possible with everyone s cooperation) Due to the high traffic volume it is requested that only dancers and 1 parent attend at the studio. Parents that arrive with non dancing siblings will be asked to wait

7 HAIR AND MAKEUP INFORMATION FOR ALL DANCERS Girls' Make-up: is required since the bright stage lights wash out the dancer's features. For the Starlite groups, foundation a shade darker than their own skin, red lipstick, blush and mascara only. The Tiny and Mini groups should have beige foundation (one shade darker than their skin tone) blush, shimmery white eye shadow, and black eye liner in addition to red lipstick and black mascara. For junior classes and higher and teen classes, the girls may wear false eye lashes in addition to the described makeup if they would like. o Boys' Makeup t Required Hair Style: Evening Show- To keep hair neat and uniform, we would like all girls to have a low ponytail with a 2" side part over the dancers left eye. Hair needs to be gelled and sprayed to a sleek finish. The girls are asked to arrive at dress rehearsal, recital and photo day with their hair and makeup done. Ballet classes may require hair in a low bun. underwear is allowed under bodysuits, lycra shorts, capris or dance pants as it shows all lines. Instead, please have your child wear Mondor dance tights (ballet pink or suntan) as indicated on the shoes and tights list. Where dance underwear is specified, we prefer full panties (micro fibre). Children's size tights will be available to purchase from the studio at a cost of $17 including taxes. Supply is limited. Costume Rental Return/Sign In: Please ensure that your child s costume rental is returned to the studio and signed back in during your child s class time, the week following the recital, from Monday, May 30 to Saturday, June 4. To assist us with sorting, cleaning and storing costumes, costume rentals must be returned during your child s class in which they were assigned. Please te: If your child is in more than one class, we ask that you DO NOT return all of their costumes together, while it is easier for you, it is nightmare for us to organize. You must sign the costume back in or you will be billed for the price of a replacement costume. Costumes cannot just be dropped off at the studio without being properly signed in. For your convenience we have extended our office hours from May 30 to June 4, in order to assist you with costume rental returns. 8 Evening Show s Tuesday May 24 & Wednesday May 25, 2016 Location: Algonquin College Theatre All rehearsals and the recital take place at Algonquin College Theatre, 1385 Woodroffe Ave, Ottawa, K2G 1V8. Located in the Student s Commons Building at Algonquin College, just south of Woodroffe Ave. and Baseline Road. Parking is free in all parking lots after 5:00 and on Saturday. The row facing the Commons Building is always paid parking. If arriving before 5:00 you must pay for parking up until 5:00. Read signs carefully as tickets are common. s are very important to the success of your child s recital. Please be on time, traffic is an issue to arrive for 4:30-5:30, please give yourself extra time for driving and parking. We try our best to adhere strictly to the times listed on the Photo Day/ schedule. Sometimes we do run behind schedule; we ask for your patience as we want to ensure all participating students are comfortable on stage and understand what is required. It may not be possible to wear tap shoes during the rehearsals, please make sure you bring another pair of dance shoes or socks to go over tights. Upon arrival dancers should report Backstage. Once they have reported backstage they will be asked to not leave until they are finished all their dances. Please make sure to arrive with drinks, food etc. s listed are call times so please be on site ready to go. Dancers will be lining up in the hall two numbers before their on stage time, for both rehearsals. It is important for everyone to arrive with hair & make-up done, ready to dance. Please arrive and be ready to perform by your appointed time. Dancers will be asked to line up in the back hall two numbers before their call time. For both rehearsals dancers may be taken home immediately after they have performed. Parents are welcome to wait in the lobby. Parents will not be allowed in the auditorium during rehearsals. gives the students a chance to practice with the bright lights and full sound. It also gives the parents a chance to practice hair, makeup and costume(s). This practice run is important not only for the dancers but also for the backstage and tech crews. In order to run rehearsals in an efficient manner it is important to limit the number of people backstage. need to be in good condition and be proper dance tights. Costumes requiring extra payment will be notified by class the week of April 18th. 7:00 p.m. Evening Show SPACING REHEARSAL Tuesday May 24, 2016 Competitive Numbers will be run during this rehearsal. Call times are listed on the Photo Day/ Schedule. Dancers should arrive with proper dance shoes, wearing class regulation dance wear. Hair should be in a ponytail. Make-up is not required. Dancers are welcome to watch in the theatre however are asked to report backstage two numbers prior to their call time. All parents must be at the school no later than 10:30 for pick-up.

9 7:00 p.m. EVENING SHOW DRESS REHEARSAL Wednesday May 25, 2016 It is important for everyone to arrive with hair & make-up done, ready to dance. Please be on time. This rehearsal is the run of the recital in order from start to finish as if it was the actual recital, and will include Competitive Numbers. All students are required to arrive with their hair and makeup done and will need all of their costumes / shoes / props etc. Photos are often taken for promotional purposes at this rehearsal. Dancers should arrive ready to go on stage. This is the practice run for the recital and is very important not only for the dancers but also for the backstage and tech crews. All parents must be at the school by 10:15 pm for pick-up. On with The Show... 7:00 P.m. Saturday May 28 Dancers are asked to arrive by 6:30 with hair and makeup completed. Dancers are asked to meet in the Green Room backstage. The show is approximately 3 hours in length. It is our intention to have the show available for viewing in the Green Room. IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL PERFORMANCES: Please note that for the safety of the students on stage and the comfort of the patrons at the recital, we are asking that no one takes flash photography or personal videos. We have a professional videographer on site. RECITAL DVD ORDERING INFORMATION You may pre-order a DVD of the recital at the rehearsals. Cost per show: $45.00 plus taxes. See the DRC Video order form for further details. You may also order on line at with payment by credit card. There is an $8.00 surcharge for late orders. DVD s are mailed directly to you at no additional cost. New this year the DVD will include both the 2:00 and 7:00 show.
