Children s Choir Festival Concert with Henry Leck on Friday, March 2; 6pm; Appleton West High School Auditorium The Appleton Boychoir is collaborating to bring Henry Leck, an internationally recognized choral director, to our area for some workshops and to conduct a festival choir of kids from around the Fox Valley. Henry Leck is the Founder and Conductor Laureate of the Indianapolis Children s Choir, which he served as Artistic Director for 30 years. Under his leadership, the organization grew to and continues to be one of the largest and most respected children s choir programs in the world. The touring choirs of the Indianapolis Children s Choir have performed regularly for national educational conferences. Additionally, the ICC tours internationally every year and has sung throughout the world. Mr. Leck recently arranged and conducted the national anthem for Kelly Clarkson and the Indianapolis Children s Choir at the Super Bowl XLVI. The Ambassador/Concert Choir will collaborate on this Festival Concert at Appleton West High School on Friday, March 2, at 6pm. Call time for the boys is 5:30pm in the Choir Room (enter Door 7.) FRUIT, CHEESE, and SAUSAGE FUNDRAISER SALE DATES: Monday, January 15 Monday, January 29 FRUIT, CHEESE AND SAUSAGE ARRIVAL: The fruit will arrive in Appleton on Monday, February 12 and will be unloaded at the Appvion warehouse, 115 North Kensington Drive, located just down the street from WHBY between College Ave. and Newberry St.

5 ORDER PICKUP AND DELIVERY: Fruit may be picked up beginning on Monday, February 12 from 3:30 pm until 6:00 pm. ALL FRUIT MUST BE PICKED UP BY 6:00 PM ON MONDAY! Your brochures/tally sheets will be at the warehouse; however, you may wish to keep a separate record for your own peace of mind. PROCEDURES FOR SELLING: Each boy selling will receive one brochure that includes a tally sheet on the back. Extra brochures will be available at rehearsals. The tally sheets should be completed in their entirety. The brochure/tally sheets will need to be turned in with all money on the designated choir rehearsal date. They will be returned to you when you pick up your fruit for delivery. MONEY: All orders must be pre-paid. The Appleton Boychoir must pay for the fruit, cheese and sausage before it is sent to us. All checks should be made payable to the "Appleton Boychoir." Remember, no order will be tallied unless the payment accompanies it. If you wish to pay for your customers orders and collect from them when their items are delivered, that is your prerogative. Please write a check for ALL cash your son collects. If there will be more than one sales sheet, please only turn in a master copy. This will make tallying much simpler. SALES GOAL- WONDERLAND CAMP CREDIT (August 19-21, 2018) or TOUR / ACCOUNT CREDIT: Each boy registered to participate in the Appleton Boychoir s fundraisers as a part of their tuition payment plan MUST sell the equivalent of ten (10) boxes of fruit, cheese or sausage. As an incentive for the boys to sell more boxes, the Boychoir helps each boy earn his way to Summer Boychoir Camp or on Tours. Each boy will receive a credit for any box sold over the minimum of ten; the credit will be applied directly to the cost of the camp fee or tour fee. *If someone chooses to make a donation to a boy in lieu of purchasing a box of fruit, cheese or sausage, it needs to be over $7.50 to be counted as a box of fruit sold (i.e. $7.50 would be considered 1 box of fruit, $15 would be considered 2 boxes of fruit, etc). VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! TALLYING ORDERS AND COUNTING MONEY: Monday, January 29, 4-5:15pm, First Congregational UCC Volunteers will be needed to count money and record orders during rehearsals on Monday, January 29 at First Congregational UCC. We will place the final order with the fruit sale company on Friday, February 2, by 12:00 pm. ORDER PICK-UP AND DELIVERY: Monday, February 12, 3:30 pm-6:00 pm, Appvion Warehouse, 115 N. Kensington Dr., Appleton I will need a couple of volunteers to help earlier in the day (somewhere between 10-1) to unload and stage the fruit in the warehouse bay. Volunteers will be needed on this Monday to load orders into cars, etc. Volunteers will work in two shifts, 3-5pm or 4:30-6:30pm. Please contact the Appleton Boychoir office if interested. If you have access to a hand truck or loading cart, please bring it over to the warehouse on Monday or contact the Appleton Boychoir office to arrange for it to be picked up and returned.

6 REMEMBER: All orders MUST be picked up on Monday February 12. YOU are responsible for delivering all orders you have sold. Theory Book Assignments While singing is our main focus each week at rehearsals, music education is a critical part of our program. The Concert Choir boys should be working on the Theory Workbook pages each week. There are only two pages assigned between rehearsals. I know that some boys have been working with their school music teachers to complete these pages, if they need some help. We are also happy to help the boys if there are questions. Everyone should be completed through lesson 20 by the start of the January semester. Please let us know if you have questions. Auditions Do you know of boys who like to sing? Maybe friends or family? You (the Boychoir families) are our best reference!! We would love to include those you know in our program. We are scheduling auditions for new members to start this semester. If you know of someone who might be interested, please let us know or have them contact the office at Appleton Boychoir Office & Communications The Appleton Boychoir office is located on the 4th floor of the Fox Cities Building for the Arts (above the Trout Museum of Art).
