1 March, 2014 President Jim Gonya Vice-President Sharon Hime Treasurer Nancy Leonard Secretary Janet Marks Newsletter Editor Steve Griffin April celebrates: 1 st April Fool, 7 th No Housework Day, 20 th Easter, 22 nd Earth Day & Jelly Bean Day April Birthdays: Shirley Zummo April 6 Steve Griffin April 14 Carol Raabe April 19 Happy Anniversary to: Rich & Sharon Vander Bok 4/20/63 Cares & Concerns Please keep the following in your thoughts and prayers: Ken & Brandy Cole, Gale Kneisley, Carolyn DeFina, Archie McLarity, Penny s brother, Larry Andrews, Mo Beardslee, Bob Ward, Jerry Breitweiser, Ken Culp and Marge Ennd. The ladies scored multiple runs and often as they defeated the men 9-2. It was a WOW! Performance. Odds and Ends: Your Newsletter editor thanks Carol Raabe for her reporting contribution. There were 17 rigs camping plus 6 drive-ins and 0 guests. Golden Triangle Sams had their monthly March campout at Southern Palms, Eustis, FL. Rain dampened the start of the campout so Thursday arrivals had to dodge some precipitation. The good news is that although Friday was a little windy and overcast Saturday and Sunday were exceptionally blue sky days. On Friday a group traveled to Boggy Creek and delivered 37 blankets, 16 sets of sheets, 19 bath towels and 4 bears. Boggy Creek is always very appreciative of these gifts. Friday evening was Macarena night led by Rose Mary Culp. The reporter on the scene said there were some extraordinary moves by MM and JG (protecting their identities). BS required special instruction from that famous Macarena dancer Trish Green. A good time was had by all. We have such a fun group and so willing to give it a try. On Saturday morning the hosts fixed everyone delicious Breakfast pies, cheese grits and fruit. At 10:00 AM, President Jim Gonya conducted our business meeting. At 1:00, there was a rousing game of Bean Bag Baseball, and the woman went crazy with mutiple runs and home runs. Wow! It was impressive. Happy Hour was comforatable as chapter members enjoyed each others company and the beautiful sunny afteroon. Dinner was a Mexican Pot Luck. A beautiful flan dessert was prepared by Sandy Chaney. Everything was delicious and topped off by some Sangria provided by the Culps. Bunco began at 7:00PM with prise money going to one of our charities. Dianne Gonya, Marie Galusha, and Larry Daland were winners. Michele Mann won the prize for most games won. Bobbie Jo MacLarty won for most games lost. She received a prize and the enjoyment of an evening with friends. Twentyeight people played and it was a spirited evening. Sunday morning was more good things to share with more visiting and good-byes until next month. Thanks to the hosts: Tricia & LJ Green, Carol & Karl Raabe, Rose Mary & Ken Culp.
