1 GOOD SAM NORTHERN KENTUCKY ANGELS OCTOBER 2018 Our October campout was held at Elkhorn Campgrounds in Frankfort, Kentucky. Those present were Greg, Teri, Bob, Norma, Jud, Cheryl, Terry, Jim, Gale, Steve, Jessie, Mike and Cathy. Friday night we went to eat at Jim s Sea Food restaurant in Frankfort. The food was great. It started raining shortly after we returned to the campgrounds so everyone stayed inside where we were dry and warm. Saturday morning was breakfast of eggs, sausage, bacon, etc. a couple of casseroles and of course lots of sweets. For dinner, we had several delicious soups and tasty offerings to compliment the soups. And don t forget all those super desserts. This campout was hosted by the men and they certainly did a fantastic job. Bob and Kim went to the September State Rally in Hartford, Kentucky. Kim made three Raffle baskets. She also did a split the pot raffle. Thanks to Bob and Kim for being such faithful Good Sam representatives for the Good Sam Northern Kentucky Angels. We really appreciate all that you do for our chapter. Our November 10 th meeting will be held at the Colonial Cottage in Erlanger (upstairs). Start arriving at 4:30 and supper will be between 5-5:30 pm, thanks to Kim for securing the Colonial Cottage for our indoor meetings. We really appreciate a nice private meeting room for our gatherings. The food is also very good. There will be a few of us going to Follow the River the first weekend in November for a special campout with a host of Kentucky Good Sam members from various chapters. They are planning some delicious meals for the get-together. November 10, 2018 Colonial Cottage Restaurant HOSTS & HOSTESSES: No host and hostess needed Plans: The Colonial Cottage is located at 3140 Dixie Highway in Erlanger ( ). Don t forget to enter on the upper level to avoid the steps. We will order from the menu. There are no definite plans for after dinner except an informative meeting. The information for the Christmas family will be announced. PLEASE REMEMBER TO CALL OR AND LET KIM KNOW IF YOU WILL OR WILL NOT BE ATTENDING. Kim needs to call with a number that is attending for our reservations.

Complete plans will be given at the November meeting. We have voted to have our meal catered and this information will be announced at the November meeting. Probably NOT from Bob Evans. The cost will be somewhere around $12.00 per person. The complete plans for the party will be announced in November. Thank you to Don and Stephanie for hosting our Christmas gathering. Stephanie and Don have some plans for the entertainment again this year, so you won t want to miss the opportunity to have some winter fun with your camping friends. PRAYERS, JOYS AND CONCERNS: Justice as he is recuperating from serious surgery Jim Stanley will be having back surgery November 2 nd Noel as he is makes great progress after knee replacement surgery Donna has had a couple of incidents, first she fell and a couple of days later she had a dietetic emergency. Her fall was in her condo but she had difficulty getting up. Thankfully, she did not hurt anything except her pride. The dietetic emergency was extremely low sugar. The squad came on both occasions. She is doing her best to recover but is feeling tired and weak. Page 2 of 5

What candy do you eat on the playground? Recess pieces. Why do witches wear name tags? So they will know which witch is which. Why didn t the scarecrow eat dinner? He was already stuffed. What kind of monster loves to disco? The boogieman. Why do people like vampires so much? Because they are FANGtastic. What does a cool witch ride instead of a motorcycle? A Brrrrrr oomstick. How do you make a skeleton laugh? Tickle its funny bone. How do you mend a broken pumpkin? With a pumpkin patch! What s the best thing to put into a pumpkin pie? Your teeth. What do you get when you drop a pumpkin? Squash. If money really did grow on trees, what would be everyone s favorite season? Fall. Why do birds fly south in the Fall? Because it s too far to walk. Why did Humpty Dumpty have a great fall? To make up for his miserable summer. What has ears but can t hear a thing? A cornfield. What reads and lives in an apple? A bookworm. What did one leaf say to another? I m falling for you. What is a tree s least favorite month? Sep-Timber! What did the little tree say to the big tree? Leaf me alone. What kind of coat goes on wet? A coat of paint. What runs around a farm but doesn t move? A fence. Why do trees hate tests? Because they get stumped by the questions. Why did the scarecrow win a medal? 5 Directions to Highland Meadows Clubhouse Take I-275 EB to the US 27 (Highland Heights) exit. You will be at the intersection of US 27 NB and SB. (There is a Frisch s on your left and NKU on your right). Take US 27 SB and turn right onto Martha Lane Collins Boulevard which is about 5 blocks. Continue on Martha Lane Collins Boulevard, you will pass a Kroger s on your left. Wind your way back (if you see a large water tower, you are in the right area) before the water tower you will see Highland Meadows Condo Complex on your left. Turn into the complex and then make a left turn and about a block further on your right is the clubhouse. Page 5 of 5
