Good morning I'm Taylor Epps. Thanks for joining us for Mornings on the Hill. And I'm Dom Muccilo. Here's a look at some of the stories we'll be talking about over the next hour. THE DAILY ORANGE IS LOOKING FOR A NEW HOME. WE'LL TELL YOU WHY THE PAPER COULD BE LEAVING ITS LONGTIME OSTROM AVE LOCATION. ALSO, BIRD LIBRARY HOLDS ITS ANNUAL DISABILITY EXHIBIT TO PROMOTE INCLUSION. AND SEE HOW ONE LOCAL GYM HELPING RAISE AWARNESS FOR CHILDHOOD CANCER. WE'LL HAVE ALL THAT PLUS YOUR WEATHER AND ORANGE SPORTS COMING UP ON THIS EDITION OF MORNINGS ON THE HILL. OUR TOP STORY THIS MORNING, THE DAILY ORANGE MIGHT SOON BE LEAVING OSTROM AVE. OUR SUNNY TSAI HAS THE STORY ON WHY, AND WHERE, THEY'RE GOING. THE DAILY ORANGE HAS BEEN AT 744 OSTROM AVENUE FOR NEARLY FOUR DECADES. NOW THEY ARE LOOKING TO RELOCATE AS SU PLANS TO POTENTIALLY BUILD NEW DORMS ON THE 700 BLOCK OF OSTROM/. EDITOR IN CHIEF SAM OGOZALEK SAYS HE HOPES TO SECURE A NEW OFFICE BY JUNE HE ALSO SAYS THE DAILY ORANGE IS NOT REALLY LOOKING AT MOVING TOWARD MAIN CAMPUS. OGOZALEK BELIEVES THAT PRODUCTION OF THE DO WILL NOT BE INTERRUPTED DURING THE FUTURE MOVE, BUT IT WILL BE A BIG CHANGE IN THE ORGANIZATION'S HISTORY. SOME OF THESE ORGANIZATIONS HAVE ALREADY MOVED OUT OR ARE PREPARING FOR THE MOVE. THE OFF-CAMPUS AND COMMUTER SERVICES HAS ALREADY RELOCATED TO GOLDSTEIN STUDENT CENTER. OTHER ORGANIZATIONS ON OSTROM INCLUDE THE CENTER FOR AUTISM RESEARCH, THE LAMBDA CHI ALPHA FRATERNITY, AND THE LGBT RESOURCE CENTER, WHICH WILL MOVE TO THE BIRD LIBRARY BY JANUARY. THE FIFTH FLOOR OF THE LIBRARY IS CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION TO PREPARE FOR THIS RELOCATION.

AS FOR THE THE DAILY ORANGE, THERE HAS NOT BEEN A SET DATE THAT THE ORGANIZATION WILL MOVE OUT FROM OSTROM. OGOZALEK SEES THE MOVE AS A CHANCE TO GROW THE ORGANIZATION. SU RELEASED THEIR FIRST DRAFT OF THE CAMPUS FRAMEWORK FOR POTENTIAL REDEVELOPMENT ON OSTROM IN THIS HAS BEEN SUNNY TSAI FOR MORNINGS ON THE HILL. THE DAILY ORANGE'S LEASE WITH SU EXPIRES IN JUNE TIME TO CHECK YOUR WEATHER FOR TODAY. ALAZIA WILLIAMS IS LIVE TO TELL US WHAT TO EXPECT. ITS GOING TO BE INTERESTING HOMECOMING WEEK HERE IN SYRACUSE. ITS MUCH COLDER THAN LAST WEEK AFTER TEMPURATURES DROPPED NEARLY 20 DEGREES. DO NOT REARRANGE THE CODING THIS WEEK WILL BRING SOME POSSIBLE SNOW AND RAIN THROUGHOUT THE WEEK. TODAY THE HIGH IS 48 WITH A LOW OF 32 AND A 90 PERCENT CHANCE OF RAIN. THURSDAY THE RAIN CLEARS UP WITH A HIGH OF 42 AND LOW OF 34 WITH PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES. FRIDAY WE'LL SEE SOME SUNSHINE WITH A HIGH OF 57 AND LOW OF 44 THE RAIN WILL BE BACK ON SATURDAY FOR THE HOMECOMING GAME WITH A HIGH OF 50 AND LOW OF 35 SUNDAY IS GOING TO BE OUR POSSIBLE FIRST GLIMPSE OF SNOW THE HIGH IS 40 AND THE LOW IS 32. IM FROM SOUTH CAROLINA AND THIS IS NOT THE NORM FOR MID OCTOBER SO IF YOU RE FROM THOSE WARMER STATES GET READY FOR SOME REAL SYRACUSE WEATHER! SO LET S GET OUT THOSE UMBRELLAS AND HEAVY JACKETS AND POSSIBLY START TO PULL OUT THOSE OLD SNOW BOOTS. HAPPY HOMECOMING! Back to you in the studio.

THANKS ALAZIA. INTERESTED IN GETTING C-P-R CERTIFIED? SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY AMBULANCE CAN HELP. S-U-A IS OFFERING C-P-R TRAINING FOR STUDENTS, FACULTY, AND STAFF WITH SEVERAL SESSIONS THROUGHOUT THE SEMESTER. THE FIRST CLASS WAS HELD ON MONDAY. THE COURSE COSTS 50 DOLLARS TO ATTEND AND STUDENTS CAN BE CERTIFIED AFTER ONE SESSION. TO FIND OUT WHEN THE NEXT CLASS IS BEING HELD, PLEASE VISIT THE S-U-A WEBSITE. IN OTHER NEWS THIS OCTOBER, THE NATION IS CELEBRATING ITS 73rd NATIONAL DISABILITY AWARENESS AND APPRECIATION MONTH. OUR TYLER LOWELL IS LIVE OUTSIDE THE BIRD LIBRARY TO TELL US MORE ABOUT A SPECIAL EXHIBIT ON DISPLAY FROM THE UNIVERSITY'S DISABILITY CULTURAL CENTER. TYLER, GOOD MORNING. STAY WITH US FOR THOSE STORIES AND MUCH MORE HERE ON MORNINGS ON THE HILL. WELCOME BACK. OTTO TUNES, ONE OF THE A CAPPELLA GROUPS ON CAMPUS, RECENTLY PEFORMED FOR AN IMPORTANT CAUSE. OUR BECKA GUTIERREZ IS LIVE IN THE STUDIO TO TELL US MORE ABOUT THE EVENT. THANKS TAYLOR AND DOM. OTTO TUNES CONTINUTED ITS TRADITION OF HOSTING A CONCERT TO BRING AWARENESS TO TESTICULAR CANCER. THE CONCERT WAS AT HENDRICKS CHAPEL ON SATURDAY AND A FIVE DOLLAR DONATION WAS RECOMMENDED. THE ALL MEN'S ACAPELLA GROUP HOSTED THEIR SIXTH ANNUAL FUNDRAISER FOR THE TESTICULAR CANCER FOUNDATION. THE GROUP FAMOUS FOR THEIR ORANGE PANTS AIMED TO SHINE A LIGHT ON A DISEASE THAT COULD AFFECT ANY ONE FROM THE COMMUNITY DAVID ROBUSTO IS A SENIOR AND THE PRESIDENT OF OTTO TUNES HE SAYS IT'S IMPORTANT TO RAISE AWARENESS FOR THIS CAUSE. ALTHOUGH THE FUNDRAISER IS ABOUT A SERIOUS CAUSE, THE OTTO TUNES MAKE SURE TO STAY TRUE TO THEMSELVES. THE BUFFALO CHIPS FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF BUFFALO AND SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY'S OWN ORANGE APPEAL JOINED THE OTTO TUNES ON STAGE. SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY QUARTERBACK REX CULPEPPER SHARED HIS EXPERIENCE WITH THE DISEASE. THE OTTO TUNES ALSO SHAVED A MEMBER OF THEIR GROUP'S HEAD FOR REACHING THEIR FUNDRAISING GOAL. FRESHMAN JJ TANAKA WAS IMPRESSED WITH THE GROUP'S EVENT HE SAID HE APPRECIATES THE GROUP'S MISSION TO RAISE AWARENESS FOR TESTICULAR CANCER. THE OTTO TUNES HAVE A LOT TO SING ABOUT THE CONCERT SURPASSED THEIR FUNDRAISING GOAL AND RAISED OVER 37 HUNDRED DOLLARS FOR THE TESTICULAR CANCER FOUNDATION FOR MORNINGS ON THE HILL, I'M BECKA GUTIERREZ. BACK TO YOU TAYLOR AND DOM.

THANKS BECKA. ANOTHER EVENT IN CENTRAL NEW YORK IS RAISING MONEY FOR CANCER RESEARCH AS WELL. BUT THIS TIME INSTEAD OF SINGING, THEY'RE SPINNING. NOW TO MORNING'S ON THE HILL CONTRIBTUOR HANNAH DUNCAN WITH A STORY ON A YOUNG BOY'S FIGHT AGAINST THE DISEASE. AT THE STRIVE 4 STRENGTH GYM IN SHOPPINGTOWN MALL, RIDERS GATHER FOR A SPIN CLASS. HOWEVER, EXERCISE ISN'T THEIR ONLY FOCUS. THEY'RE TRAINING FOR THIS YEAR'S 46-MILE RIDE FOR CHILDHOOD CANCER AWARENESS, WHERE TEAMS RAISE MONEY AND RIDE SPIN BIKES IN HONOR OF CHILDREN WHO HAVE FOUGHT AGAINST PEDIATRIC CANCER. DIRECTOR KATIE OJA SAYS EVERYONE WHO HELPS PUT THE EVENT TOGETHER PLAYS A VERY IMPORTANT ROLE. WHILE CONNOR HAD A VERY TOUGH ATTITUDE, HIS MOM SAID THAT EVERY HOSPITAL VISIT WAS A BATTLE TO GET THROUGH. THE BIKE MACRO RODE FOR THE EVENT WAS DEDICATED TO CONNOR. IN THE PAST THREE YEARS, THE EVENT RAISED OVER 46-THOUSAND DOLLARS TO HELP THE KIDS AND THEIR FAMILIES, AND THIS YEAR THEY HAD THEIR BIGGEST EVENT YET, RAISING OVER 21-THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR THE CAUSE. IN SYRACUSE, FOR MORNINGS ON THE HILL, I'M HANNAH DUNCAN. 46 CHILDREN IN THE U-S ARE DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER EACH DAY IN OTHER NEWS, PEOPLES PLACE CAFE IN HENDRICKS CHAPEL WILL HAVE A NEW LOOK AFTER WINTER BREAK. THE HISTORY OF PEOPLES PLACE SPANS BACK TO BUT AFTER THE SEMESTER ENDS ALL THAT MAY BE LEFT OF THE CREATIVITY AND COLORFUL ATMOSHPHERE IS MEMORIES. THE CAMPUS PLANS TO RENOVATE THE COFFEE SHOP BECAUSE OF HEALTH CODE VIOLATIONS. BUT DONT WORRY THE COFFEE SHOP IS CLEAN, OVER THE YEARS THE PAINT USED TO MAKE THE COLORFUL ARTWORK IS OUT OF DATE. THE CHANGES TO THE SHOP BEGAN THIS PAST SUMMER WITH NEW COUNTER TOPS AND THE NEXT PLAN IS TO ADD FRESH PAINT AND NEW CANBINETS. THE STUDENT-RUN, NOT FOR PROFIT COFFEE SHOP WILL STILL HAVE ITS COMFORTING SPIRIT THAT EVERYONE LOVES JUST WITH A NEW LOOK. CITRUS RACING'S NEWEST TOY IS ALMOST COMPLETE

THEY TOOK THEIR NEW AND IMPROVED C-R-2 RACECAR OUT FOR A SPIN AS THE SQUAD PREPARES FOR THE 2019 FORMULA S-A-E COMPETITION IN NEBRASKA.
