SHEEP/MEAT GOAT CAMP TO BE HELD IN LE MARS Leggett s -You Gotta Believe (YGB) Show Lamb and Goat camp will be held June 19th and 20th at the Plymouth County Fair Grounds. The mission is to build agricultural leaders of tomorrow through showmanship improvement and character strengthening. Any questions, please contact Chastin Leggett at chastinleggett@gmail.com or Gregg Junck at HOUSING/CARE OF LIVESTOCK REMINDER The policy has been posted several times, but please make sure you understand it. If you have any questions or your living arrangements have changed, please visit with the Extension & Outreach Office so we can help you! This policy originated with only swine. Since then poultry, beef, and sheep have been added. Those are the species that are spot checked. We still encourage members with all the other species to be the primary caretaker of that animal at your own home. This policy aligns with the Code of Ethics each member signs. 4-H is a privilege, not a right, and it comes with responsibility. The housing policy is very simple, if you live on a farm with facilities, that animal (beef, sheep, swine, poultry) will be housed there. If alternative housing needs to be found due to hog confinements or no housing available at all, the alternative housing location (that meets the guidelines) must be pre-approved by the 4-H & Youth Committee. Meaning you need to contact the Extension & Outreach Office so a written explanation can be submitted to the committee for review. MARKET LAMBS OR SWINE FOR CLAY COUNTY OR AK-SAR-BEN 4-H members may identify additional lambs (that didn t come to weigh-in) or hogs for Ak-Sar-Ben or the Clay County Fair at a later date. If you choose to have additional animals for either of these shows they must be identified under the supervision of Extension and Outreach Staff. They will go through the verification process on your trailer. We will set up times for you to come to the Extension and Outreach Office to have this completed. You need to let the office know that you have additional animals and also how many animals you will be identifying ahead of time so that the equipment can be ready. We will then set up a time to complete the identification process. You cannot call and say you are on your way. Additional animals for Clay County and Ak-Sar-Ben must be identified by June 15.

6 FEEDER CALVES FOR AK-SAR-BEN Reminder that in order to exhibit (any of the feeder calves you have identified) at Ak-Sar-Ben, DNA needs to be submitted by June 15. Contact the Extension and Outreach Office to get the materials. HORSE PROJECT CLINICS 4-H Horse Clinics will be held on Thursday nights at the LeMars Fairgrounds Arena. They will start at 7:00 p.m. and finish around 8:30 p.m. In case of inclement weather, a decision will be made by 6 pm. Contact Jenny or Sheila with weather related questions. Members should bring their horses to each clinic if possible! minimum attendance is required. Helmets need to be worn at all times! If you missed the Horse Project meeting we have that information available at the Extension & Outreach Office! Also, please keep in mind that the fairgrounds arena is not for personal riding use. 4-H insurance only covers you during scheduled 4-H sponsored events, Saddle Club insurance only covers during those sponsored events and the Fairboard insurance is for other scheduled events. ne of these organizations are responsible for you on your personal time so they are asking that you not use the arena outside of these scheduled events.
