6 Intrductin Frewrd This Prgram Outline is fr use in the Utility Arbrist apprenticeship training classes spnsred by the Industry Training Authrity and will be used as a guide fr Instructrs in the frmal classrm prtins f apprenticeship training. A Utility Arbrist is a persn wh undertakes any wrk required t prune r clear vegetatin in prximity (defined as a distance f three meters r less frm a primary cnductr with a vltage f 750 vlts r higher) t energized electrical equipment, structures and cnductrs r wh in the curse f utility line clearing peratins, prunes, falls r remves trees which culd cme int cntact with energized pwer lines. Since this is a practical trade, it is expected that demnstratin and student participatin will be integrated int all learning activities. Nte: The Achievement Criteria fr the cmpetencies with practical assessments may be cmbined at the instructr s discretin and as time permits. Safe wrking practices thugh nt always specified in each f the cmpetencies and learning tasks, is an implied part f the prgram and shuld be stressed thrughut the apprenticeship.
