1 9.00AM SHARP Important Dates to Remember: Edition 2, TAC Cup season 2016 Training session for squad of 30 players Venue Linen House, Seaford. St Kilda FC main ground 22 nd Rehab session. ALL PLAYERS (Unless playing in local games) Frankston Surf Lifesaving Club. Melway Reference Shepley Oval, Dandenong. Squad of 30 announced for Round 1 game Gippsland Power. Physio in attendance EVERY PLAYER IS TO TRAIN AT STINGRAYS 6.15pm Parents meeting- Social Rooms 7.15pm 2016 Coffey Ford Jumper Presentation- Open to everyone LEADERSHIP- ANNOUNCEMENT: The 2016 Leadership team will be announced on night prior to the 2016 Jumper Presentation. The leaders identified from the camp will present to the playing group prior to the announcement. STINGRAYS GOLF DAY- POSTPONED: Due to a few hiccups the day was cancelled, lucky with today s weather! A new date has been set for Friday, tee off time is lunchtime! Registrations open again for the 2016 Dandenong Southern Stingrays Golf Day at Settlers Run Golf & Country Club on Friday 20th. The cost per player is $130 which includes, BBQ lunch, drinks on course and Stingrays Golf Day polo ($500 for group of 4). We currently have 42 spots available and would really love to fill the event, so first in best dressed on what should be a fantastic day. SEASON FEES: Thank you to ALL players who secured a player Sponsor and/or talking with me in regards to 2016 Season Levy s. We have a couple of players who need to hand in Sponsorship forms- can you please do so ASAP and let myself or Peter Bainbridge. All players named in the 2016 TAC Cup squad have two financial commitments: 1. Currently Owing, the 2016 Season levy is $360 per person that covers all your uniforms and off field cost associated in being involved with the TAC Cup. This needs to be paid before Round 1. Invoices will ed out Monday, also handed out to players on. 2. If you choose the option of having a player Sponsor who took care of the camp fee of $ and your Season Levy of $ I thank the majority of you who have handed in all forms. For the few who have promised forms, can you please return ASAP. Parent Group contact list: Each year to help with travel to training, games and rehab we pass around to the Parent group the contact list of the parents, which helps to get to know everyone s name/s and allows an easy point of reference when needed.(name of parents and mobile number contacts). If you don t wish your details to be shared please contact Mark Wheeler directly before next. Parent Group/ night dinners: Each year we look towards our families to help run our weekly meals on a night for the squad playing in the TAC Cup that week. Each week 8 players are chosen to cook a meal to feed 6 hungry young men. We ask those who are cooking to help serve that night too- more about this on at our parents meeting. On game day also one of the Dad s will run the winning margin- $2 a ticket or 3 for $ first prize each week is $70 with the reminder of the money raised paying for the jumpers to be washed. To win- the ticket corresponding to the win/lose margin. You also get $10 if you are either side of the winning/losing margin.
2 INJURED/REHAB BOYS: All injured and rehab boys are to report IMMEDIATELY Nathan Clarke or members of the medical team each week BEFORE you start training in any aspect. If you have been in the rehab group you must get approval to full train from OUR Physio s. If you get injured away from Stingrays please remember the first 24 hours are the most crucial in managing the injury. Note: All rehab training is at Dandenong from now on- anyone injured needs to train both and at Shepley Oval until cleared to play from OUR Medical team TRAINING LOADS: Remember: don t play catch up and try to do EXTRA training on scheduled night off sessions; this will only see you back in the rehab group. Another huge concern is boys not managing their school sport loads, with many players training Monday,, Wednesday and sometimes s! You would be one of the fittest players in a school team- use the session to do 1000 touches, and no full ground drills A Reminder to players that now on Monday/Wednesday/Friday/ are scheduled leg rest Days, but you are expected to do stretching/pilates and Weights this is the type of session you should be doing for your school team and should have the conversation with the school with your parents. MOBILE NUMBER & DISTRIBUTION LIST: Reminder, if you have not supplied us with a correct player address/mobile or have changed any other personal information then please advise Peter Bainbridge ASAP. It is also vital that we have a parent/s as well as a player s & correct mobile numbers. TRAINING APPAREL: Please make sure you are in your 2015/16 uniform each session. The boxing Mitts & Roller you received last season must be brought to each session. New players who didn t receive mitts or foam roller last year can purchase from Mark Wheeler for $ EACH SESSION you must bring Boots, runners, towel and in the New Year a mouth guard if you wear one! SHERRIN FOOTBALLS: To help with your skill development the Stingrays have purchased Sherrin Footballs, which are available for purchase on a Wednesday night for $ CASH OR CHEQUE. TAC Competition Sponsorship obligations: The TAC Cup is sponsored by the Transport Accident Commission and all players are expected to have (must have) their Learners permit by January 31 st and to practice driving at every opportunity. Drink driving and reckless driving will result in a player being removed from the program; no if s, no buts; first and final warning. Players Graduated Learning System Log books will be regularly checked with a series of benefits becoming available to players when they achieve a predetermined number of practice hours. During the pre-season and throughout 2016, the Stingrays will be required by the TAC to conduct a number of educational sessions, structured driving practice opportunities, logbook viewings etc. as part of the competitions sponsorship agreement. The TAC Cup is sponsored by the Transport Accident Commission and all players are expected to have (must have) their Learners permit by January 31 st and to practice driving at every opportunity.
