1 Newsletter February 2016 Residential Manager and Activities Coordinator and Sales Office ext. 8 Southern Meadow News A great thank you goes out to Linda Synden and Thelma Sroka for all of their hard work with the Memorial Tree. Three sayings for the Plaque were sent out for a vote. Thank you to all that voted and provided feedback. In a community with over 100 homes it is very hard to please everyone. The saying that was the most popular was In memory of our departed Southern Meadow Family. Always in our hearts. This is what will be on the plaque. There will be point persons for each of the activities at the Club House, however the point person will require assistance with setting up before an event or cleaning up after the event. Please feel free to contact the point person and offer your assistance. At the Club House On February 11th at 11:15 in the clubhouse there will be a discussion about the distribution of the 50/50 funds. If you have contributed to the 50/50 and would like to make a suggestion please join us at the meeting. Several new residents have moved into Southern Meadow these past few months, so there will be a Meet & Greet scheduled for February 22 provides an opportunity for new and old residents to mingle and get to know each other. There will be a Super Bowl Party and Men s Chili Cook off on February 7 at 5:00 pm. The sign-up sheet is posted at the clubhouse. Please sign up and note if you will be making chili. Feel free to bring your own snacks and beverages. The Pool on the Super Bowl is sold out. Look for the winners. POC Paul Zimmerman 1
2 Coffee Talk February 25 th at 2 pm in the Club House. What is Reiki? Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. POC Patti Papineau Grief Support Thursday February 11 th at 7pm, Southern Meadows support group would like to invite anyone who is having a difficult time dealing with the death of a loved one. Sometimes it is comforting to know that you are not alone in how you feel. Please join us if you need to talk or if you just want to listen. There is no pressure. We meet the second Thursday of each month at 7pm. POC Linda Synden Caring Committee The next Caring Committee meeting is Monday, February 8 th at 1:00 pm. Please note that this is a new time!
