1 Dear Friend of the Foundation: Since the formation of the Bobby Nichols-Fiddlesticks Charity Foundation 16 years ago, the Fiddlesticks Country Club community has donated over $10 million to local children s charities. The community is grateful to the individuals and businesses that have demonstrated a strong interest in Fiddlesticks efforts to raise funds in support of abused and at-risk children. The Foundation and the dedicated Piper organization have made a difference in the lives and well-being of children suffering from abuse and neglect and we could not do it without your support. We have seen government funding go down and the amount of children needing assistance go up. We know that our efforts are making a difference and so we continue our mission to fight for these children. Given our ongoing pledge to support the children in our community, we need your help. Included you will find sponsorship opportunities for our 17 th annual charity events, including the Nichols Cup Golf Tournament and Auction on February 16-18, The PGA recognizes the Nichols Cup Golf Tournament as one of the most successful community-sponsored Pro Am s in the United States. 2 FAST FACTS HISTORY: The Bobby Nichols Fiddlesticks Charity Foundation, founded in 2002, is a group of Fiddlesticks members, known as Pipers, who volunteer to organize and run an annual celebrity pro-am invitational golf tournament for the following purposes: MISSION STATEMENT 1. Generate funds to return to the community via charitable contributions. These contributions have been earmarked for abused and underprivileged children. 2. Recognize the contributions and accomplishments of Bobby Nichols, winner of 14 PGA Tour tournaments including the 1964 PGA Championship and 1974 Canadian Open. (Bobby has been a resident of Fiddlesticks since its inception.) Sixteen tournaments have raised $10,013,000 for local children s charities. Funds are raised through golf, tennis and walkathon events with tournament sponsorships, raffles, live and silent auctions. NON-PROFIT STATUS: A 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization. All donations are tax deductible. GOVERNANCE: Board consists of Fiddlesticks members. Board members serve without pay and each pays his/her own Piper dues and tournament fees. One Fiddlesticks staff member acts as tournament coordinator and an outside bookkeeper is employed.
