5 Weymouth Country Club Greetings Weymouth Country Club Members! Everyone in the front offices of Weymouth were just saying the other day that it seems as if Summer was more fleeting than usual due to the rainy June. All of us are in awe that it is the Holiday Season already and we have planned a wonderful end of the year for you, the membership of Weymouth CC. New Winter hours begin next month, with the closure of the halfway house on November 1 st. We thank everyone who joined us in our little corner of the world, and we thank Tiffany, Erin, Debbie, Bryce, Dan, Gwyn, Griffin, Bethany and everyone who helped run the halfway house and pool this summer. While the golf season has a few days left, we will set up hot dogs and a little snack shop in the Men s Grill for the remainder of the season. Clubhouse hours are also being adjusted beginning Sunday. The Clubhouse will be open for lunch and dinner from Tuesday through Thursday from 11 am to 8 pm, and on Friday and Saturday from 11 am to 9 pm. The Clubhouse will be closed on Sunday and Monday unless there is a special Member Event. Plans are underway for the months of November and December, with our traditional events scheduled (New Year s Eve, Christmas Candlelight Dinner), along with some new fun events to bring Membership in from the cold. Remember, Chef Chris Taylor will once again offer a Thanksgiving Dinner to go, to make things easy on Turkey Day. He will also be cooking up some great Weekend specials along with our Tuesday Night Family Buffet. We sincerely hope that the support you showed us during the Summer will continue on into the colder months. Although the course will soon be closed down, our core group of the Weymouth Team remains to provide you with great food and welcoming service every day. See you at the Club! Christopher is 49 years and Michelle is younger. GPI Enterprises Inc., providing management, data, and accounting services. Christopher and Michelle met in college and have been inseparable since. They were married twenty five years ago in Las Vegas, in a church and not by Elvis, and have one daughter, Samantha who was born in Las Vegas and a very demanding tuxedo cat named George. Michelle and Christopher both work for the company they own, Christopher s hobbies include adventure racing, triathlon, and learning about health and fitness. Michelle s hobbies include reading, yoga, and shoe and purse shopping. Together they are looking forward to bringing our marital bliss to the dance floor to support one of our favorite charities.

To date, the following has been accomplished: Tees aerified fairways aerified All approaches and par 3 s aerified Greens deep tined 8 deep with ¾ solid tines by outside contractor Greens top dressed with 35 Ton sand with more to be applied 5 dead Ash trees removed by outside contractor by 1/2way house and electric lines by chipping area Clubhouse and ballroom perennials cut back and cleaned up Bare areas leveled and seeded Cart path ends aerified and seeded Drainage work on 2 fairway in progress Rough sprayed for weed control Annual flowers removed Pool cover installed Pool winterized Late season dollar spot disease sprayed Chipping and practice green aerified The above items were completed while we are still maintaining playable course conditions. As we continue into this so far beautiful fall season, there is still much more to finish. Below are items that will be completed through the winter months: Winterize irrigation system (first week in November) Finish aerifying fairways Winterize course restrooms, bath house and 1/2way house ( Nov. 2) Top dress greens Spray snow control on fairways, tees, and greens Continue drainage work on fairways Continue dead Ash tree removal (150 trees to remove) Planting 20 new 3 caliper trees on course and entrance Cover pool and patio furniture Recondition all equipment including 69 carts Bring in and recondition all course accessories Aerway rough Aerify and overseed range tee Dormant fertilization to entire course Leaf clean up and removal As you can see, there is much to accomplish in preparing the course for next season. Here is Turf Tip: Fall is the best time to clean up the weeds in your lawn. Killing the weeds now will allow the grass to fill in the void left from the dead weed. New weed seed will not germinate in the fall. Also, a late application of fertilizer will help build a strong root system to give you a nice thick and green lawn come spring. Enjoy the remainder of the golf season.
