1 Around THE Club Editor Ann Carter The Annual Meeting took place on Monday, December 17 th at 7:00 p.m. at the Crown & Shield St. Andrews Arc Leesburg, FL Ann Carter - Editor January, was a good year for us here at the Monarch. Hoping 2019 is even better!! The MMGA held its semiannual scramble December 1 st. We had 64 guys battle it out The 2019 Board of Directors and their positions are as follows: Dick Sjogren President Dave Kozlowski Vice President Esther Patterson Secretary Linda Gietz Treasurer Vince Laverghetta Golf Chair Mike Russomano Membership Chair Bob Keating Building & Grounds Chair Ann Carter Communications Chair Steve Ryan Marketing Chair Those in Bold are newly elected. Craig Misch Pro Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!! Here are your top 5 teams **Fifth place Conrad Krzyzanowski, Denny Olson, Jerry Berryhill and Roy Bradford, **Fourth Place Lee Fjeld, Steve Pierce, Ray Smith, and Larry Shultz **Third Place Tony Hicks, Harry Edwards, Tom Bailey, and Britt Davies **Second Place Paul Mensch, Mike Kowalski, Henry Maguire, and Bernie Campbell **First Place - Champions, Steve Bryan, Mike Kline, Dave Maki, and Tom Suzda. It was a great event. We will have our next scramble in April. New rules are now in effect, if you have any questions regarding the new rules of golf, please feel free to come by and ask me at any time. I am including a picture from the USGA highlighting the most important changes. 1

Sue Scappaticci and Judy Keating are in charge of the games again this year, and I am sure they will have some fun ones for us. Our first day of play will be Thursday, January 3rd.

Time to start thinking partner golf, as the MWGA prepares for their 6th Anniversary "Beat the Pro" Pizza Party Date: Thursday, March 7, 2019 Time: 8:00 AM Shotgun Signup Sheet will be posted on the board. Keep your eyes peeled for more info from Therese Buono. Snowmen was the theme and how cute it was. We welcome all lady members of Monarch Golf Club to join our organization and play and socialize with us on Thursdays (8:00 AM shotgun start). Dues are $35 for the year which also includes the Closing Dinner at the end of the year. Come join us for a fun filled Thursday round of golf, and stay to socialize after golf over lunch in the Crown and Shield Restaurant. The MWGA s closing dinner. Daniel was self employed as a contract cost consultant He enjoys golf and belongs to AACE and Beach Mountain Hunt Club. She is from Maryland where she was a Computer Systems Analyst. She has one son, Bruce, and enjoys kayaking. Terry Stephenson - Superintendent Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. Thanks to all the members for the employee s Christmas bonus. It is always greatly appreciated. We have finished cleaning up most of the beds and will be spraying them with roundup and Sureguard to keep the weeds out of them. 4

We will also be edging the cart paths and the bunkers as time allows this month.

Putterflies Christmas Luncheon We are putting sand in the rough areas entering and exiting the cart paths.

Please remember to drive in the fairways to help with the Bermuda grass in the roughs. Here is to a great 2019.
