2 The Platinum Club has been created to allow individuals, organizations, and businesses to support unbudgeted and unfunded capital improvement projects necessary at the Dublin Country Club. Our 2017 Campaign funded some important projects including exterior painting, roof replacement, and restroom renovations. Most importantly, these funds covered a majority of the expenses of our new well. Had it not been for this revenue stream, these improvements would not have been made at all or the Club would have incurred additional debt. Those members making this possible are listed on the Platinum Club plaque hanging in the Clubhouse. We continue to have expenses with the well and our roof to address, in addition to other capital projects. In Spring 2018, the Board of Directors conducted a survey of our membership, and other needs were prioritized by the responses received. With the 2019 Platinum Club Campaign, the following projects will be addressed: Entrance Paving and Upgrades $20,000 Interior Clubhouse Paint $20,000 Pool Fence Replacement $ 8,000 Communication Software, AV & Tech Equipment $ 8,000 The Club has solicited bids and pricing information on these top projects. As the funds are received, work will commence. We hope to quickly and efficiently mark these projects off the list and move forward to other areas of improvement. In just a few short weeks, the following have committed to the 2019 Platinum Club Campaign: INDIVIDUAL PARTNERS: Mike & Debbie Cauley, Joe & Camille Carruth, Myrtho & Caroll Ceran, Louie & Ann Curry, Roger Folsom, Wayne Grosch, Dominic & Carol Ingrando, Matt & Cristi Jones, Johnny & Kathy Layton, Lisa Livingston, Allen & Lisa McMichael, Michael & Natalie Maffett, Ed & Karen Roche, Jack & Leigh Ann Tribble, Mark & Catherine Ziemba CORPORATE PARTNER: Fairview Park Hospital With a minimum $1000 individual, $2500 Civic Club, or $5000 Corporate membership, YOU can play an important role in the future of the Dublin Country Club and our community. Will you partner with us??? Contact Jack Cammack to enroll in the Platinum Club today.

3 A Note from the General Manager.. Dear DCC Members, It s looking like winter may finally be behind us! This unseasonably warm, spring-like weather has our operation off to a terrific start. Hopefully this nice trend will continue and we can start our golf season a little early this year! Well, I just have had my first experience with Dublin s version of March Madness and all I can say is WOW. I was completely overwhelmed with all of the events going on in our wonderful city and proud that DCC was able to be a part of our community s long standing traditions. Brunch on April 21 st. As we move into April, I would like everyone to please check the club calendar for the exciting events we have planned for the month. Karaoke is back on April 19 with a wine pairing dinner scheduled on April 20 th. Also, I would like to remind everyone to make reservations for Easter On the golf side we have two new events scheduled for April. First will be the DCC Men s Individual Match Play Championship beginning April 18 where we determine who is the best match play golfer at the club. Signup for this event will be taking place as I am writing this note and will continue through the spring until we get to the finals. Our second event will be the first annual Over-Under. This tournament will pit the Old Guys against the Young Guys in a match play format that will be fun for everyone. I m sure there will be a little trash talking too! Finally, I would encourage everyone to consider being part of the 2019 Platinum Club. The program has already been well received by many of our members but we still need your help! If you have any questions about the program please feel free to contact me directly. I hope to see you at the club! At your service, John E. Wavrick III, PGA General Manager/Head Golf Professional Dublin Country Club 689 Country Club Rd. Dublin, GA (478) Ext. 205 Don t forget about the REFERRAL PROGRAM that has been designed to introduce your friends, family, neighbors, business associates and social acquaintances to the exciting lifestyle that we have at Dublin Country Club. 9 Hello from the course.. We completed the 1 st spring pre-emergent weed program right on schedule despite some iffy weather. We will continue working on some broadleaf weeds that have popped up from the warm weather spells and extra rainfall. This year we are going to implement a new weed control program. We usually make two applications every six months with the goal of applying products just before the weeds would normally appear. After much discussion with the UGA, Auburn and the Texas agronomy departments we are going to now make 4 applications using the same products. Our overall quantity of products used will not increase; however we will see a slight tick up in our fuel and labor expenses (as it relates to making the two additional applications). The thought process is with the weather being so finicky we don t want to have our products run out and then have a weed breakout. We feel that by applying every 90 days we will maintain a more controlled environment and limit the weed populations from germinating. We should be prepared for the Kylinga weed to appear soon and unfortunately we do not have a product that will prevent this weed from appearing. The two best pre-emergent products on the market have proven to be ineffective so we are working on a program using four different products to combat the Kylinga once we see signs of it appearing on the course. We will be starting on a tee box renovation project funded by the MGA. We will focus first on the rear tee on eight and then proceed to the rear tee on four. During the renovation and establishment of the grass we will use the forward tee on those holes for all players. Please continue to help with the ball marks and use those cart paths when you can. Using those cart paths will help us with soil compaction and weed control especially if we have had rainfall and the course is wet. Look forward to seeing everyone out on the course. Take Care Hampton Kicklighter Jr. CGCS From the Pro Shop.. Golf season has started off with a real bang as we have already hosted two outstanding tournaments and just finished another one as of the last day of March. Starting off the month, Middle Georgia Easter Seals and Century 21 held what seemed to be one of their best tournaments ever, with thirty-seven 4-person teams completing the March 8 th round. The Krista Anderson State Farm team, which included DCC members Chad Wyatt, Burt Evans, and Jared Holley (and Jared s brother, T.J.), won the 15 th annual Easter Seals-Century 21 Durden and Kornegay Golf Classic. Coming in second was the team of Jim Brantley, Ben Knight, John Mark Butler and Don Clark. Congratulations to both of these teams! Congratulations also to Team Cummings, led by Mike Cummings, which overtook Team Daidone to win the 2019 Challenge Cup. Good weather was enjoyed by all, as was good food and fellowship, as well as a little competition! Our high school golfers Allison Wallace and Garrett Ammerman, along with Sam Kicklighter and Nicholas Browning continue to lead their school teams to wins over neighboring high schools. Garrett fired a nine-hole, 1-under 34 to lead the West Laurens Raiders in their opening victory over the East Laurens Falcons, and followed up the next week with a 39 over Hawkinsville. Allison led the Lady Raiders in their opening game against Dodge County with a 1-over 36, and posted a 42 the following week to win against Hawkinsville. Both the boys and girls defeated Bleckley County later in the week. Closer to home, the DCC Pro/Golf Shop is welcoming Spring with a new selection of Footjoy and Under Armour ladies and men s shirts, as well as men s shorts. New shoes have arrived as well. Prior season merchandise, now 50% off, is prominently displayed at the front door. Come get them before they re gone!! Next month, we ll be exploring the new DCC Repair Workshop, where John uses his Pro talents to regrip clubs and do minor repairs. His new equipment is beguiling and remarkable, surpassed only by his knowledge of how to use it! Come visit us and see what all has changed since we moved back home! In the meantime, Happy Easter, Happy Spring, and enjoy your many days of delightful golf weather!! Marlene (Singles We will find you a partner...give us call.we will play match maker!) Sign up in the Pro Shop or call , Ext. 203 Before 3:00 pm on the Thursday of play.
