I have enjoyed my time as MGA President and look forward to another great golf season ahead of us at the CGCC! David Prince MGA President MGA News MGA Dues $50.00 The 2018 Annual MGA Dues are included on this month s statement. The MGA purpose and mission statement is to promote the game of golf, the golf course and promote camaraderie among the members and their guest at the Cape Girardeau Country Club. The MGA proudly supports the Club s junior golf program and provides funding for many of the golf course improvements. Included in the yearly fee of $50.00 is your USGA GHIN Handicap card, which allows you to convert your local handicap to the appropriate handicap for any other course you wish to play. As we move forward into 2018, and after a successful 2017, let s take a moment and appreciate that we have been rolling on this river for 99 years.

3 President s Remarks This past year we experienced major overhauls on the course and renewed energy in membership. Much of this happened because of our Past President Bob Fox s dedicated service to our club. I would like to thank Bob Fox for his service to the club. As we move forward into 2018, and after a successful 2017, let s take a moment and appreciate that we have been rolling on this river for 99 years. That s right, we are entering our 99 th year as a club. I want to personally thank every single member and staff for supporting this club and making this achievement happen. However, we must continue to ask for your support and plan for the future. I am asking all members and staff to help push our club over the top. We are going to do that by bringing new members, hosting new events, and committing to superior customer service. Call the Pro Shop for more information or to sign up Membership Drive New Members are the life blood of our club and it is time to begin recruiting for We are bringing back the AndOne program with a discount for members who create an AndOne connection by recruiting a new Golfing member between now and June 1 st. As in the past, the recruiting member and their AndOne connection will receive a 15% discount on their dues for as long as they both remain members. If you already have an AndOne connection, and your new member stays past April, 2019, then they will get the AndOne discount and you will receive a complimentary cart plan for We all benefit from the enthusiasm and ideas that new members bring, new friendships formed, as well as the additional revenue to help support the club. Please join the Membership Committee in identifying member prospects and helping convince them to join our club. 4 Spring is approaching and soon the birds will be singing and the daffodils will be in bloom. Beginning in March on Friday and Saturdays we will have HAPPY HOUR in the 19th Hole and River Room from 4 to 6 pm. Mixed drinks and wine $2.00 off per drink and Beer will be $1.00 off per drink. March Events: Clubhouse News Thursday, March 8th from 4 7 pm Pro Shop Merchandise Show WGA News LADIES come join us for a Spring Gathering Party the evening of April 14th. ALL ladies, golfers and non-golfers, are invited. There will be more information in the April newsletter. Our River Room feature will be a Apricot Glazed Corned Beef dinner. During Happy Hour enjoy a Irish inspired drink special. Tuesday, March 20th we will be hosting the Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours from 5 7 pm. Jenny Briscoe Food and Beverage Manager News from the Course Mother Nature threw a little bit of everything at us in February - a little ice, a little snow, a little sun, and a whole, whole lot of much needed rain. The ponds are finally full. We have been busy working on wood area cleaning up, painting tee markers and we continue to work on equipment. We have several other projects to finish before spring officially gets here. You have been billed based on the choice you made last year. If you would like to change your plan, please call the club office and we will be glad to do that for you. The plan options are: 1. Family Cart $695 annually. Allows unlimited cart usage by all family members. 2. Single Cart $545 annually. Allows unlimited cart usage by one(1) designated member. 3. Pay Per Use $20 for 18 holes and $14 for 9 holes per person. The annual plans will run April 1, 2018 thru March 31, 2019 We do offer payment options, for more information please call the club office ext 10.
