Following a number of new additions in 2018 we re pleased to welcome back the Robert Burns Trophy to Ayr Golf Week, which complements the established Tam o Shanter and Handyside tournaments; while we hoped the revamped Junior Open will inspire the next generation of players while also safeguarding the sport s future. The Troon Golf Weekender remains a popular well subscribed event and we expect to see continued strong interest in this challenging competition this summer. Meanwhile the Girvan Golf Classic is celebrating a milestone anniversary and returns for its 30th edition in 2019, something we re sure will help to promote a great course to an even wider audience in the months ahead. We re committed to making the most of the local economy and promoting the fantastic assets we have in South Ayrshire to as wide an audience as possible, while also championing healthy lifestyles and the benefits of taking part in sport. The South Ayrshire Golf festival plays an important role in that work and every year we see people from across the UK travel to take part in our showcase competitions. 4 Prize Fund Closing Date: Monday, 20 May, 2019 THIS YEAR SEES THE 68TH YEAR OF AYR GOLF WEEK, WHICH IS OPEN TO ALL AMATEUR GOLFERS WHO ARE MEMBERS OF A GOLF CLUB AND ARE HOLDERS OF A RECOGNISED CLUB HANDICAP. While in the region why not pay a visit to Dalmilling Golf Course? Although not appearing in the events, this 18 hole course offers splendid views over the Carrick Hills and provides an ideal warm up before any tournament. All competitors can take advantage of 25% off normal green fees at any of our courses during Ayr Golf Week. The Tam o Shanter, Handyside & Robert Burns Trophy plays out over the Belleisle and Seafield courses. AYR GOLF WEEK CHAMPIONSHIP TAM O SHANTER, HANDYSIDE & ROBERT BURNS TROPHY Belleisle & Seafield: Monday 3 - Sunday 9, June Open to Gentlemen. Entry form: page hole qualifying over Belleisle and Seafield on Monday and Tuesday. Players will register their handicap, including National Registration Number, on the Monday. Tam O Shanter Trophy: 0-8 Handicap Handyside Trophy: 9-18 Handicap Robert Burns Trophy: Handicap The Matchplay knock-out rounds will be played over Belleisle on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday (participation is optional). Additional Rules: 1. The competition is open to amateur golfers who are members of recognised golf clubs, and will be played as per the rules of golf set by the R&A. Subject to the local rules of Belleisle and Seafield Golf Courses Golfers will qualify from each category, and will enter into the Matchplay knock-out phases. No competitor will be eligible to win more than one prize. In the event of a tie after 36 holes of strokeplay, the final qualifier will be decided on the inward half then the last 6, 3 and so on from the 2nd Qualifying Round. 3. Handicaps will be altered for each Qualifying Round with the onus being on the players to inform the starter of any handicap changes before the start of the next round. 4.
